sunil pal is awesome.

" bhawnaon ko samjho" hahahaha…

on a serious note, have any of you been able to fibd out about the fee waivers?? plz give me any info u have.

all you need to do is to get your GC to write a letter to the adcoms saying you are financially unable to pay the fee and citing valid reasons. If you don’t hear back from the adcoms, it means that they’ve waived your fee.
People say that it’s generally wiser to send fee waiver requests only to need blind schools though so restrict them to HYPM if you’re applying to those schools. I did ask for fee waivers at some non need blind schools though and I still got accepted.
Also there are some schools which waive the application fee if you apply online so you might want to look into those.

Sucharita & Adides, it would be really nice if u will send me ur Essays at ronty007(at)rediffmail(dot)com or PM me
thanx in advance :)

thanx sucharita for ur reply.
could u guyz plz email me the essays too @ sachitgupta@gmail.com

thanx a lot.

i think the topic has been raised already…ppl dont like sending their essays.and anyways those essays must come from ur heart not a preread one…It is very imp that u write on what u feel…what u write on is far less important thean how u write…

I got the same thing regarding the fee waiver. All the guys tell me to just send the waivers to HYPM but actually i’m not gonna send any waivers there too. Hey guys do u notice that this year the population of posters on cc is less compared to last year (maybe people will show up…although I would not wish so…more competition eh…haha)

well actually…it is kinda bad.if less ppl come on CC this year.we will face unknown competition…not knowing who are appyling.coz each yr some of the best candidate show up here and the cc borda gets refreshed with inputs and collective ideas…

Lets seee…already high time…

pr stats.com

I’m very sorry, I can’t send you my essays because they’re on my computer at home and I’m in college using public cluster computers now.

Anyway, I completely agree with smartmind - don’t look at other people’s essays before you write your own - IMO it just cramps your style. Don’t worry about comparing your essays with other people’s, just let it flow.

Absolutely… i initially tried reading a few essays and found that it was just not my style… No matter how successful they were it did not reflect me and my writing…and i went abt a new writing style original and unique to me… without any suggestion and samples… Finally what has come out seems to be gud and ppl say it is very diff from the stereotype… Do ur brainstorming and u’ll know what to write… Make drafts…edit them…have ppl read them… make corrections til the last day and it wil be amazing

btw how many indians are at princeton…enrolled in ur year sucharita…

* ~ vampiro : “here’s the CC rule: IF YOU HAVE A LINK< YOU ALWAYS POST IT WITH THE MESSAGE. Ok” *

vampiro, Nice Rule!

My interviewer had told me that only 4 (<=5) people were taken in by MIT in 2004.
Mr McGann told me that the figure was 5 admits from a pool of about 180 applicants from India.
Mr. Ben Jones’s and Mr. Matt McGann’s account also says that the average number of students admitted from India in the past few years is less than 5 (or maybe 6).

One thing for all MIT Applicants:
MIT does not see how good you are, in general, but how well you will suit at MIT and with it’s culture, in particular. Hence, even if your grades are a bit low, they will admit you if you have the right qualifications and aptitude for scientific research, because afterall MIT is a research institute, more than an undergraduate college.

Hence, if you have done any scientific research in the past, or have invented something, do not forget to let MIT know it in the additional information section of Application’s Part-II.

I do not have much idea about the requirements of other colleges, but Adides, Sucharita, Premanjali, Ritz, Flamethrower (he has many pseudonyms), and others will be able to provide information about other colleges. MercurySquad is an expert in MIT matters.

Thanks for your response SHABIN. u’r frequency of visits has reduced these days. Preparing hard eh. which colleges are u applying to this year.

People who are also applying to UK universities please tell me if full funding is available in UK univs.

4 Indians were admitted to Princeton’s Class of 2009 and three enrolled (adides, myself and another girl)

there’s another guy with an indian passport but high-school from colombia or somethin…
and shabeen’s already enrolled in an institute, iit i think

and yeah, the mit thing, the official figure is 4-5 indians, i some1 said that it would mean only 86 intls each year, the figure is something like 120. as stated before 15 is the total no. of indians at mit.

Thanks for the gr8 info… atleast i did not expect prompt replies within so little time…

I bet both of the kid that got into RSI from India (one boy one girl) will get into MIT. They are both really smart…

who r they… And when r they gonna apply …year 2006… our bad luck then
