The Indian Thread (TiT) # 15

Oy, stop making me feel all traitorous! :stuck_out_tongue: (Seriously, though: if a chances thread is detailed, I figure that it might be an interesting thing to compare with real results. Strangers online and strangers in the admission office have the ‘stranger’ part in common, after all.)

And do that! It would be massively entertaining, although not so much for the rest of us unless we managed to identify you.

I am thinking of getting a New Id after April[Or I would have to, forcibly, because I am sure reject from P’ton.]

I’ll have to count on all of your support in silence though.

No, if April Fool’s day proves happy, then reading a bunch of ■■■■■■■■ answers should be quite hilarious. :)

Though of course, as practically all your answers till date have been from us lot (irrepressible aren’t we), you might have to wait a while until you get some truly ah, literate answers.

I feel it incumbent upon me to say this (with ref. to my posting a chances thread):

I have gone over to the DARK SIDE.

(Who can resist a good Star Wars ref? Sadly I came up with it ten minutes too late.)

The Dark Side is powerful indeed then.

I liked the Star Wars films, like being the operative word, though I’ve never really fallen in love with them…

I was tempted once, to post a chances thread, back in my greener days. We’d thought of doing a joint twins’ post. But we were strong, and the weakness passed, and we survived, to fight another day. :D

haha… nice story. I too have resisted from posting chances threads on several desperate occasions.

hey can you people PM ur essays, if u dont mind :)

Open Question: (You know, posts that start like this have about a .005 percent chance of being answered, but anyway… :))

What order are you going to be checking your emails, come 29th March?

I’m still debating with myself about this one. I’ll probably leave Harvard and Princeton to the last though. (By that time it’ll either hurt less, or I’ll be past caring) and probably tackle Yale first…

Of course this is assuming (as is most probable :P) that the 17th doesn’t quite work out…

Oh and Kaushik’s got a Princeton interview, finally… (tomorrow)

I’ve only got one more decision I actually care about coming up, UC Berkeley. It’s on the 1st of April I’m told…

i will think about that a year later! :P

My order(I am assuming all of these come on same day):
Princeton
Midd
Williams
Amherst
Colgate
Penn
Colby
Mac
Grinnell
Oberlin
Lafayatee

abhi you are self-funded too?

So everyone’s posting chances threads… Abhi and Noldo, both of you are wonderful and “I think you’d be very competitive in the international pool” (Matt’s words)… The life of an adcom at top schools must be very tough

No, My EFC is 100$ which makes me auto-reject at all of the non-needblind places i have applied to.

It has never occurred to me to post a chances thread, I dont like the idea and goin by my de-inhibited (latest research jargon) conduct, that thread will be flamed like hell…and DoveOfPeace will delete my thread…

@Shrivats: I’ll mostly get rejected by all the places. I’ll just take them as they come. :)

I second Lakshya. A lot of my decisions come by post, anyway. >.<. Yale and Berkeley are on the 29th, that’s all I know about the dates. And Hamilton mails on the 26th.

Berkeley’s on 29 March, inshallah. I applied, too.

Abhishiv, did you get an email from an admissions officer at Oberlin?

Your family is only able to contribute one hundred dollars towards your college education?
Dude, you shouldn’t even be able to afford a computer with internet…
