Yeah , Engineers usually start out making more , and CS jobs are pretty much in demand, but a lot of finance jobs do pay as much , but mostly the idea is to strengthen your profile for a Consulting or Business Analyst position which are mixtures of both.

Well, if I don’t get into a more balanced school (can’t say as of now), I can always take an MBA later.

haha , welcome to being Desi

I wouldn’t mind Gatech’s screwed sex ratio, seeing that I’d be a beneficiary…

bump…(lol! severe irony!)

Pulchritude - I wouldn’t take the Cornell Missing things as an interest in you. I applied ED and and there was some kind of confusion over my transcript. I immediately called the guy thinking I could sort it out quickly but no. He said 'In his 18 years as an admissions officer, he had never seen a one page transcript before. He then went on to say wherever your from, I can guarantee you’ll have more than one page to your transcript. Obviously I didn’t want to talk back to him, (my vocabulary would have been very limited) so I asked my Guidance Counselor to talk to him and I think their conversation went pretty much the same way. I got rejected in the end and I’ll never know whether that was the reason.

WeepSob

Relax Inshallah… but I’ll still hold on to the belief that they liked me, that’s why they bothered to contact me… even if I don’t get in… just to get such a personal email from Cornell! Mwah!

Lots of posts while I’ve been away, I see… :)

Good to see some new people here, and some posts by a few who we thought had vanished. :p

Pulchritude, you’ve got to realize that a core group of us, (Lakshya, the both of us, Noldo, TOCF(Kriti), isaac and Abhishiv, along with bas) have been posting here for a very, very long time… :)

So you’re preaching to the choir a bit regarding the importance of not focusing only on a few colleges. We’ve all got our lists made, our own personal dreams and priorities assigned, and in the time that’s remaining to us, we, well we talk.

We talk about our lives, about everything in the world (And if you trawl through the 5600 odd posts we’ve made, you’ll realize we do mean everything), and we’ve, over the past 6 months or so (God has it been that long?) established a fine rhythm of overstatement and exaggeration, from Lakshya’s Nihilism, to my obsession with Latin, Kriti’s propensity to throw things (and people :)), to Noldo’s incredible sense of humour.

So don’t take much of what you read here at face value. (Quite a bit of it is a series of inside jokes. :D)

Sermon delivered, I’ll get off my soap box, cease my too long sentences, and just say, Welcome to TiT!

I’m posting more and more insightful posts of late… :D

Must be something in the Dubai air. :p

Abhi, thank u for the congratulation! By the way, how abt ur MIT? Anything good from them?
India must beat Bermuda (now, I’m sure there can’t be any stupid surprise for that match at least!) and Srilanka (a tough game!)…Pakistan is almost out of the WC(or r they already out of it?) and so I’d love to see India/Sri lanka going to some finals! (BD will stop somwhere in the next round…if something miraculous doesn’t happen…I don’t expect that anymore
I’m happy that they have India!)

Nah, Rejected on the face from MIT.

BD played extremely well, you have a good chance of being in the semis this time. Going from India’s current performance, i am not sure if they would be able to to beat even Bermuda.

Bob Woolmer died! OMG! RIP Bob Woolmer
:(

Wow, this thread is like a chat messenger. Wow, sad… Bob Woolmer… Trying not to be the media but wonder how/why he died.

RIP Bob Woolmer.

well, did anyone have a great pi day?

ha! Our teacher refused to celebrate it because he was still “angry” over nobody celebrating on Feb. 7th - the day of the euler number

Weird I know

Your teacher was right in a way… e is far more important… but the fellow should have at least an iota of respect for Albert Einstein… :)

Yesterday’s Daily Round-up: 127 posts. (Not that sleepy a day after all :D)

I can’t believe Bob Woolmer died. It doesn’t seem real. Coaches just don’t drop dead in World Cups. :(

I have only thrown two things and one person… does that translate to a propensity? ^_^
