The Indian Thread (TiT) # 15

@karthiksmart, it’s a decision you’ll have to make by yourself. I can’t help you since I don’t know that much about Brown

@ sp: I can only say that you’ve had horrible luck; hope your fortunes change for NU and Stanford. We didn’t get into M&T but into SEAS

@Lakshya, Kriti & SP: Thanks for the brilliant conversation yesterday :)

Oh yes, congrats aditya!!!

UChicago’s brilliant! I’d imagine you’re going there now?

Karthik – you’ll have to look at things based on your intended major. Not many of us know much about Brown, but I do agree with pinku2002 on the prestige of CMU’s Computer Science programme – if you make it there, there are very few things better than that.

To everyone – is it true that Cornell has an age requirement? If so, well, damn, that was a waste of an application fee. :p

Since when has Cornell become so selective?
My Oxford/Caltech/JHU/Berkeley/Columbia friend didn’t get in.

I don’t know about Cornell, but I do know that Duke (was it?) has a lower age limit of 17 for you to stay in one of the dorms (and I’m *just *old enough) which is moderately strange.

Good thing I didn’t apply to Duke, in that case. They’d have to kick me out for a year or something.

Cornell’s playing hard-to-get this year, LOL

7000 beckons!!! :D

Har har, bas. :stuck_out_tongue: (They are, though – I mean, Berkeley/JHU/Duke/Penn/Caltech but not Cornell? Bit strange.)

I expected all three of today’s rejections, though, so I can’t say I’m incredibly crushed – UChicago because international + aid ----> lim P(acceptance) = 0 (:D); Princeton because, well, it’s Princeton, and I screwed up the interview; Cornell because I’ve been hearing about the age thing from four or five sources, and I think they do have a limit.

I suppose we’ll post a detailed list of selections/rejections/waitlists from this thread next week and then the thread will be closed! Right? :)

Hey guys so how mani of u got jakked by d coll. decisions ??
Anyone got into Cornell/Berkeley ??
As for me…i got into UIUC nd CMU - SCS 4 CS…rejected at Cornell, Berkeley…wens d UCLA regular decision coming out ne clue ? der site is so pathetic…losers…

I know, Cornell’s terrible this year!

But at the moment, K and I are stuck:

The situation:

We’ve pretty much ruled out CMU and Michigan. Both were our safeties and they’re not colleges we were enamored with in the first place.

We’ve also ruled out Johns Hopkins. (It’s just too expensive. 50K)

So, the situation we’re in is: Duke vs Penn vs Rice vs Berkeley (With Regents).

Northwestern’s still to come, but unless we get the Debate Scholarship there we’re pretty much ruling it out. (Too cold. :))

Stanford, well, I’ll probably be rejected by Stanford.

So,

Judging by what you’ve learnt of us in the past few months, what would you say. A straw poll as it were… ;)

Rice or Duke or Penn or Berkeley (Regents)?

I didn’t expect Princeton to reject me :(

Chill 007…u got in2 MIT !!!
1 bloke 4m my school(calcutta) got into berkeley another in yale…havent hrd ne1 else gettin thru tho…cal intakes into big univs suck basically…

Akhaitan - https://www.admissions.ucla.edu/Decision/Login.aspx</a>

Thats the login site for UCLA. Decisions were up last night. Good Luck.

@ twins - With the Berkeley Reagents how much are looking at paying? (per person of course lol) Oh and congrats on your decisions. It’s on of those options where you can’t really go wrong. And aren’t you going to pursue your Yale waitlist?

REJECTED…***…EVEN AT UCLA ???

Thanks anyway 4 d link man ! Hu all gt thru @ UCLA

Shrivats – I’d take the Berkeley Regents simply because the cost would be pretty awesome if you prove your financial need (which I assume you can), and it has Perks and stuff – and you can’t really go wrong with Berkeley anyway, it’s a great place. Otherwise, Rice > Duke > Penn, I think.

News of the day – my class’s valedictorian was rejected by Berkeley/Yale/Cornell, waitlisted by Columbia. I’m considered a lot less intelligent than she is, overall. :stuck_out_tongue: So NYEH, school.

OH MY F***ING FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER!

I GOT INTO UCLA!

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

I didn’t get rejected by ALL the top schools I applied to!

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

I am high!

Congratulations, Kriti! Does that mean you’re going there?

Okay, I’m gonna get 7000
