More allegations every day against more actors. It’s about time to drain that Hollywood swamp.
I’m expecting crickets.
USC students have started a petition to remove Bryan Singer’s (XMen director) name from the USC Division of Cinema and Media Studies because of the many, many allegations against him regarding sex with underage boys. He has not been convicted of any crimes yet, but the students feel that, given the number of unsavory stories, it is inappropriate to be connected to him. I admit that when I toured there a couple of months ago, I was creeped out to see his name around.

No crickets. Already Sessions and McConnell say he should withdraw from the race, if true. And the story is only an hour or two old.
Strange how they don’t apply that standard to everyone.
I’m sure they’re glad to have an excuse to get rid of Moore. I’m glad too.
Louis CK is next.
I was looking on Twitter and people I follow say that there is more than one allegation about Roy Moore. We will see how this pans out. These rumors have been out for years.
It doesn’t surprise me that politicians are coming out so quickly against Moore. The GOP has been mostly uncomfortable with him since he got the nomination.
I’m more interested in what they do when a fellow senator/house member/candidate that they actually like gets accused.
@Midwest67 Here is the Louis CK article. His appearance on Colbert’s Late Show this week has been cancelled as was the premiere of his movie. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/11/09/arts/television/louis-ck-sexual-misconduct.html
If. If. If.
There should be no “ifs” anymore. No “ifs” needed for any of the other accused. They were history immediately.
Watch them smear these women.
All of these things make me feel like vomiting, scrubbing myself with really hot water, or both. Yuck, yuck, yuck. Anyone who does it, no matter his political or religious leanings, should be deeply ashamed and should make amends (restitution, apology, offering himself up for humiliation, face criminal charges) to the victims and to the public.
This is not new. 20 odd years ago, Robert Packwood resigned from the Senate over allegations of sexual harassment. He was a Senator from Oregon, for those too young to remember.
You want to talk about crickets, how about all of the stories involving adult female teachers hooking up with their underage students.
It seems like every week a new story breaks, the media covers it for like a day and it’s quickly forgotten. Talk about a double standard…
^^Yes, everyday it seems the LATimes covers some area teacher or coach (male and female) who’ve had sex with an underage student. There were teachers in LAUSD who were moved around just like in the Catholic Church scandal. One teacher had put his ejaculate on cookies and fed them to students (look it up, it’s true. Happened a couple of years ago).
I know Tatin, it’s disgusting stuff, and for some reason – I don’t know if it’s because they are teachers or what – the media always seems to downplay and/or quickly brush these stories under the rug.
I brought up both Mary Jo Lotourno(sp) and Pam Smart recently in threads regarding this topic. Neither of those stories went away in a matter of days.
There’s a story about a female teacher in Ohio today in the Daily Mail. It could be that the cases of teachers having sex with underage students are so frequent that it is no longer news. But the sperm on the cookie story was news here in LA for several days, really no more. The cases are settled quietly with the school district paying out millions to the children and the news goes silent. No one famous is involved and no institution that journalists like to bash in involved.
BTW, I just read what Louis CK did, and it is very disgusting. His movie premiere is cancelled. I never liked foul mouthed comedians anyway, so…
The LeTourneau case was newsworthy for quite a while because the story was so whacky. ‘Teacher abandons her husband and children for a pupil younger than her own adolescent kids.’ Ugh!
