Wow, it’s scary that at least one name was used without permission and you wonder how more of them were so used and also that there appear to be so many who STILL support this person.

I understand that some people believe it is their duty to forgive Roy Moore. But can or should they do so if he has not admitted to doing anything wrong?
Even if one may feel it their duty to forgive, does that mean that the person is FIT to serve in Congress? One can forgive but still not believe the person is FIT and question the judgment that has a 30+ year-old “dating” young teens and more.
I suspect many will think that Moore is entitled to the benefit of the doubt and as long as there’s not a video of him raping a minor, it won’t stop them for voting for him. I wish I could say otherwise and I’d love to be proven wrong.
And remember she was 16; some will say she consented. NO, I believe her. I’m just saying that some will say it was consensual.

He is being tried for corruption but this should be further investigated and prosecuted.
I’m a solid Dem and have been since my mid-20s. But I have voted for R’s occasionally when the D was egregious, and the R was fairly mainstream.
He’s a good example of what should happen to Moore, IMO. Though Weiner texted and Moore went real-life, a nearly 2 year sentence would be a good start.

Remember the whole Weiner history. The guy had the chutzpah to run for mayor of New York AFTER the first round of sexting was disclosed and after he had resigned from Congress for sending photos of his genitals to various women. He was even endorsed by Keith Ellison for mayor. Talk about giving someone a pass.

It is really interesting in the Moore and Weiner cases how there is such a strong disconnect between their behavior and how to achieve their ambition, unless both cases cover a personality defect that craves power.
All these men have risked their political or career and personal futures over their sexual improprieties. It’s not rational behavior to put it mildly.
Re: giving offenders a pass. I don’t remember where I read it, or heard it, but it was a woman saying, with resignation, “Everybody loves a redemption story”
I thought, good grief, she’s right! The PR firms will be busy!
But do any of them transform themselves into upright men? Weiner didn’t. He got caught. Resigned from Congress and STILL continued his sick behavior. Polanski. Convicted and continues assaulting little girls. Paula Jones filed her sexual harassment case before Clinton had relations with Lewinsky. The behavior doesn’t seem to be slowed down by being called out.

I’m interested to see if Moore switches over to asking for forgiveness at some point, if it becomes too hard to keep denying.
@TatinG - I didn’t remember it (I left NYC when Guiliani was still mayor) but I just looked up that endorsement. And if Weiner had been known to be sexting young girls, I’d say “Eeeewww” (I said it anyway, as it happens). But the timeline I am reading says Weiner resigned over photos sent to what everyone thought were adult women. Same when he ran for mayor. IMO that’s gross but involves consenting adults.
A person who sends naked photos of their genitals to strangers is not fit for office, IMO. Endorsing such a person for office is strange.
