Conservative Christians are pro-Israel. That isn’t the same as being pro-Jewish.
I somehow got on a GOP mailing list, and I get e-mails referring to Soros (and Nancy Pelosi) almost daily.
I am late to a bunch of these posts but I agree with @MYOS1634 about cautioning out of state kids to go to college in Alabama.
The vote tally’s will tell us how many millions of Alabamians feel it is totally acceptable to molest young girls. Just remember that if your child is ever attacked down there, these are the people sitting on the jury. I doubt they would shed a tear for an out of stater if they do not even care to protect their own children.
I really, really hate to drudge up all the crazy stereotypes and images that we have up here in the Northeast (yankee’s to them) about people in Alabama but it is things like this that drives us nuts. We just cannot understand it. It makes not sense to us here.
I really feel out of touch as I cannot fathom how a parent in Alabama does not wish to protect their daughters. It seems like such a natural thing for a parent to do. They would rather turn a blind eye than to vote democrat? Is that how much they HATE democrats in Alabama? We tend to lean Democrat here in MA but we do vote republican occasionally. We do not have such hatred in our hearts like they must have in Alabama.
I think we are even discussing this in 2017 is sad state of affairs.
I find it difficult to square a desire for a Christian theocracy with being pro-Jewish. Roy Moore is unambiguously in favor of a Christian theocracy.
Yes, that whole ‘not accepting salvation’ thing mean non Christians will go straight to hell.
I think I will be in good company. If of course there was such a thing a hell.

When evangelicals told us they cared about private morality in public officials, it was all a lie. I stupidly believed them, but it was all a lie.

Caring about “Family values” was also a lie.
@Hanna I came out of that with the same interpretation. I can’t believe this kind of stuff is rearing its very ugly head once again. Shameful.
MassDaD, there’s plenty of poor behavior to go around, including in MA, so no need to clutch your pearls because of Alabama politics. 
When someone mentions freedom of speech, it is only for those who agree with him/her.
When someone criticizes immoral or unethical behavior, it is only for those opposed to him/her.
When someone is concerned about the budget deficit, it is only when the other party is in power.

I think Breitbart is the first group that got on the Soros myth, but it’s heavily favored in RT and other Russian/Russian related media (cf. Recent crackdown attempt in Hungary, targeting an American University following American standards of speech - it was accused of being a Soros parasite or some such).

Perhaps the political voting patterns there are less about religious values than about race, so trying to make sense of them based on only religious values may seem puzzling.
Well… I have been wondering if Doug Jone’s prosecution of the KKK church bombers that killed 4 little girls is a negative for some Alabama voters.
Ugly episodes are meant to be left in the past and glossed over because it is the ‘new’ south. Until of course it becomes ‘heritage’ like the civil war and the Confederate flag!

Roy Moore dated his current wife before she was divorced, when she had a young daughter.
Then, they married, and Moore became stepfather to the young daughter.
The young daughter grew up in the household with Roy Moore as her stepfather.
Hmmmm.
Sounds like Roy was dating this woman before she even FILED for divorce (while she had her young D).
