Huh that’s really cool. Yeah I’m a “debate” person or whatever so I’m considering it, but it’s like two thousand dollars for a two week program (aka really expensive), so I don’t know if it’s /really/ worth it.

The rising scholars program is free, I’ve heard.

Yeah, I’m a complete debate person too. Maybe the thing I suspect helped me get in most, actually.

@mrnephew No, debate wasn’t it. Looking at your stats, I see that your interview at Andover was horrible and you were rejected there, while you still listed debate on your resume.

I tried. I’m tired.

Yeah, but I mean, the interview was another big part…

Any news yet from your end? @stargirl3

@mrnephew I was trying to debate it. Oh well. :)

Nothing yet, nothing yet. Applying late to a few schools… applications have sort of become a hobby at this point. :-?

@stargirl3 I wish you luck, love! I feel like literally /everyone/ has said that, but it does deserve to be said again.

@mrnephew Same here. I’m really excited since L’ville has MUN, mock trial, and a debate club (plus young democrats/republicans). That is really my stuff and my school only has one of the above listed.

Haha yeah, although I’m not sure if I’d make the mock trial team at L’ville. I did at my school currently, though, so maybe.

There’s a course for seniors called Law and Legal Procedures (I think? Maybe it’s called something different) that I’m super excited to take.

They might also have like A team, B team, etc for mock trial.

I’ve heard that all of the MAPL (are you supposed to drop the E?) schools are bustling up their debate programs, so now people can actually be recruited for debate since it’s now being recognized as something legitimate (and not the standard after school club, etc).

Sweet. It’s evolving to the point where I’d like it to be. I can’t wait to go to competitions at L’ville, we’re going to be competing against some of the best. Over here my school’s not that great, and neither is my district, so it’s not too much fun.

The MUN team competed at Yale, I heard. Which is really cool.

And I’m sure they compete at Princeton, since it’s so close.

Yup. And I think they might have done it at the New York hq too.

Well yes and no, i’ll be playing squash this summer but I will be there sometimes not that much though.

Not through an official Lville program though, just on my own and through a different program.
@greyeyedgoddess

Is it that nike one?

Nope, it is through the squash club run by the Lawrenceville coaches and an independent club in philly. @mrnephew

I see. Sounds fun! You’re lucky, you get to experience more of that campus before we do Although we’ll all have time to experience it for the next few years.

That’s amazing, @squashisawesome! Enjoy the campus while you don’t have to do hours of homework every night (kidding… but not really kidding).

Not kidding at all, really. ;)

Yeah not kidding at all. It’s going to be awful, being shut up in the dorm doing homework or whatever, considering how nice the campus is.

Though, granted, you do have to get out for sports, dinner, and the occasional club, so…
