The Lawrenceville School

So for all future Lville students and parents here are some tips I received on revisit day:

Follow all of the rules to the word for the first couple of weeks, until you figure out which teachers and housemasters are lenient towards them, i.e. Dress code.

Bring a soft, comfy chair. The one that the school gives you for your dorm is wooden, hard, and uncomfortable.

Bring lots of food. It’ll get you lots of friends, and fast.

Make good impressions on your teachers from day 1. They’ll help you and you’ll get to know them really well.

Find a place where you can have that peace. For my revisit guide, it was in a little nook in the music building, yours might be in the library, house, etc.

You’re not allowed to have a TV, but you can bring a 32 inch computer monitor to serve as one.

If you really, really need a fridge, get some acne medication or other pharmaceutical item that needs to be refrigerated, the school will accommodate as long as your parents say so.

Get to know your housemaster really well. It’ll go a long way in sleepovers, inviting others into your dorm, etc.

Have an open mind. This is probably the most important thing on this list, and stressed by everyone I met. Don’t be afraid to join the Korean club, even if you’re not Korean, and get a taste of that sweet BBQ. Join the inter house sports for all it’s worth, and get as much out of the Lawrenceville experience as you possibly can. It’ll be your home for the next few years, might as well take advantage of it.

Feel free to add anything under here pertaining to Lawrenceville.

This is the real one, I don’t know why there’s two.

Way to go @mrnephew

Be friends with day students, you’ll need their cars! (Totally not trying to market myself here!).

Or, their parents’ cars. :)

During revisit, we were told boarders were not allowed to get a ride in a car driven by anyone under 21 or 22 (?), including day students. I’m not sure if this is common, but as a parent, I liked the policy. Sorry guys.

So what kind of roommate are you? And what’s your favorite cereal?

Quiet. I’m a mix between the messy and clean.

And for cereal, CTC all the way, it’s not even close IMO.

@mrnephew: This looks so funnnnnnnnn >:D<
You’re making me jealous here :((

It would be funny if i get into lville next year and i meet you guys.

;)

Why funny? That would be… interesting.

Anyone, when you visited, did you see the library? I only went in the first floor during my tour, I didn’t see any other floors. It looked pretty huge and awesome.

It’ll be funny bc I met you guys through cc first. :stuck_out_tongue:
Interesting would be a better word though.
I’m so excited to visit lville in the fall! :D

@mrnephew‌ so I’m not going to lville (obviously haha) but when I visited in the 8th grade I could have gone there simply for the campus. IT’S S PRETTYYYYYYYYY!!!

Yeah, I thought so too. I just really fell in love the first time I laid eyes on it, (mind you that was on the internet).

Thanks to @greyeyedgoddess‌ the course selections are coming out in four days, along with the summer reading material for some classes.

=D All the information is on the Enrollement Checklist.

http://www2.lawrenceville.org/admission/enrollment-checklist/index.aspx

Yeah, they just sent us an email about placement testing.

@mrnephew, to your parents or you, I didn’t get anything.

@mrnephew I also didn’t get anything in my email nor my parent’s. Did they send you the placement tests themselves?
