^^^^ nice post.
Sometimes I’m amazed and sadden at how judgmental some posters can be.

I actually thought she looked very attractive with the short hair. The longer hair and all the makeup kind of makes her look like a mannequin or a Barbie doll to me. She seemed more “real” yet pretty before. JMO.

I saw one picture of Kate and she looked good (even though I don’t want to admit it). However, I think she is a fame hungry attention seeking lunatic. Having 8 children does not make you a good mother or a good person. I don’t know her personally, so I cannot judge her on either count, but she definitely is not deserving of the attention she receives.

On her own show, Kate was so in charge of every little thing. On DWTS, she looked almost lost and so unsure of herself. Some of the contestants appeared to be enjoying themsleves even if they weren’t great dancers. Kate didn’t look like she was having fun.

I wasn’t wowed by the hair. It was OK.

Thanks Tutu!

Nrds, I get that Barbie Doll image - LOL! - but I think of it more as her getting dressed for a “Glamour Shot” or getting in touch with her sexy side - things that have been sidetracked a bit over the past few years for obvious reasons.

Bodacious, love your honesty. In my mind, Kate is a good mom because she runs her family so efficiently - the kids were always neat and well-dressed, they were taught good manners, they learned early how to be caring with each other and to help with the chores, they were well-fed and encouraged to try everything, they were given one-on-one time with their parents, they got proper medical care, their individual needs and interests were given attention, they each got their own birthday cake, etc. Throughout it all, Kate has shown amazing fortitude and resiliency.

Ha, Ha, PackMom, Kate did kind of have the “deer in the headlights” look last night, but that makes sense, since she is totally new to that kind of experience - both dancing and performing in front of an audience like that. It will be interesting to see how she and the others do next week!

Kate isn’t the only one who had trouble “selling it” during her dance on DWTS. I remember Kathy Ireland from last year, a model who you would think wouldn’t have trouble selling it–she was much more stiff than Kate. You have to pretend you are a beautiful princess at the ball, not live in the moment being an ungraceful mother of 8.

Pamela Anderson, who had some awkward dancing moments, can REALLY sell it! I enjoyed her performance the most of the night…but then I enjoyed that TV show VIP that she starred in during 1998-2002, where she tongue-in-cheek played a sexy celebrity, much like the character she was playing on her first DWTS appearance.

Yes, but will Pam be able to sell it when she has to do the waltz?

I have never been a big fan of Kate, but I did read an article on her in People magazine. I feel for her the way the media criticizes her so much. I cannot imagine having and raising 8 children. That is A LOT of work not to mention the lack of sleep. They do have to financially support them, so why not do something fun and that she can enjoy? In the article, it expressed how people were criticizing her for not staying at home with the kids. I bet a lot of those people were also working moms not at home with their own children! Also, look at all the actresses who have children and have to leave home for an extended period of time…they aren’t criticized!
I guess what I am trying to say is even though I am not a fan of Kate, I feel for her!

The truth about Kate - how soon we forget:
Before “the show”…
She insisted on fertility treatments, even though she knew the risks - having sextuplets and two year old twins was not a “fluke”. She was blessed with many donations and offers of volunteer help. Her church built a nice addition onto her home in a very nice neighborhood. Her then unemployed husband was offered employment.
She threw all of that away (actually donated it) - sold the house, alientated her church and family. I don’t think the grandparents are involved in the kids’ lives. She insisted that people donate money not diapers. She wanted Nanny’s not volunteer help. She sued the Commonwealth of PA to have the state (Medicaid) continue to pay for a Registered Nurse to help care for the kids when they were one year old - even though they were healthy toddlers.
The local newspaper did a story on the Gosselins and the babies and periodic updates.

Neither the show nor Jon turned her into a witch - she was one already.

Moving on…
Her hair looks fake but better than the short spikes. Her dance was awful and I just hate to see people to embarrass themselves on TV. It was painful to watch.

While I didn’t like her dress, I was impressed with Erin Anderson. She is lovely, tall, legs a mile long and athletic. She could go far.

^^^ I don’t know how much of that story is accurate; there are two or more sides to a story. I’m not sure how many of us wouldn’t look like witches in the eyes of others, if our lives were truly exposed.

I’ll also be interested to see if Pamela Anderson can sell the waltz. L’il Kim had trouble selling “elegant princess” and it hurt her chances of going all the way.

Justamomof4, I also was impressed with Erin Anderson. Never heard of her before–I guess I don’t watch enough ESPN.

A lot – if raising kids requires matching designer wardrobes for each child; regular family trips to Disney World, the beach, Hawaii, etc.; weekly manicures, pedicures, hair coloring and styling, and cosmetic surgery/procedures for Mom and Dad; nanny services; and a huge brand-new house and downtown Manhatten bachelor pad for Dad. If the parents had used the bulk of the money earned already to pay off their mortgage and establish educational trust funds for the kids, the family could easily survive on one income right now – and Kate could certainly work part-time with all the kids now in school.

This family is in much better financial shape than most American families, so I have issues with Kate portraying herself as a mother forced to work to put bread on the table. She is doing what she’s doing to make sure she (and her kids) can continue to live in the (posh) style to which they have become accustomed.

Tutu–all that has been well documented by former friends and family. There is much more.

Kate’s stiffness on the dance floor is rather endearing to me. Her life has been in so much turmoil for the past year, it seems to be difficult for her to hang loose and let go. Kate will dance better next week. She is a survivor.

A perhaps a good belt from a hip flask wouldn’t hurt…

No, people she comes in contact with survive Kate.

Ha! Just read that Jon was dumped by girlfriend #3 since his breakup with Kate.

Kate on Dancing With the Stars tonight:

“I don’t get it…I just don’t get it…”

Truer words were never spoken. And that’s not just about her dancing.

Her jive was so bad that I had to leave the room! And making a sweetheart like Tony so mad that he quits? Yikes, that woman is a piece of work!

I can’t decide whether Buzz or Kate should go…and Ochocinco’s foxtrot was awful, too. Looks like Pamela Anderson may be safe for a few more weeks.

She really doesn’t get it, does she? That b*tchface she had on during the judging said it all.
Please let the public put her out of her (and our) misery – vote her off!
