There is always hope.

I am telling you this email/call thingy from personal experience. By employing this strategy at various unis and LACs I demonstrated my total interest in each one of them. In this way, I never stood a chance of being vetoed at a level or safety school (in our lingo, relatively less competitive for finaid) because of the adcoms thinking that I was taking them lightly and was using them as a “safety”. Maybe it won’t work for you - who knows? But trying anything that pushes your chances just an inch is worth it, I’d say, esp. so for an international fighting for aid.

And yeah, I never meant ‘bug them’. Rather, try to impress or charm them. I in fact had a leisurely time discussing Hollywood flicks with the Hampshire international lady ;)

no distinctions any level and most of his as level and o level percentiles were b/w 90 and 95 not even close plus a B in O level English Literature. He was rejected early action yale and his SAT 2 scores are not that overpowering cuz ppl frm the same school with SAT 2 3200/3200 and SAT 1 2200+ and olevel and a level straight As also applied bt were outright rejected…i thnk we need the MIT chap himself to solve this puzzle aftr all its MIT!!..LOL
he got in for music and math major and the girl got in for mechanical engineering.

^ Remember, there are invariably hidden objects nobody wants to tell anyone else about his/her application. Maybe the * perfect score * school fellows you’re talking about appeared absolute nerds, thought their academics could make them sail through the app process (know quite a few ppl who think this way) and didn’t work hard on their essays and for their RECs. Maybe he/she had a diverse array of difficult O/AS/A Level subjects. Whatever the case, it will remain a mystery until the guy himself comes to this thread or his pal here explains a bit. Anyway, commiserations! Your stats seem bullet proof and you deserve a big acceptance for me.

Don’t worry, I am sure nature will conspire soon. Stay positive :)

Its barely 2 weeks till the decision is out. I’m pretty sure they have even typed in my letter ( or printed it out, whatever those guys do), so calling them now, IMO, won’t make any difference!

Unless of course you have some really special Hollywood flick on your mind that really needs to be discussed with a lady admissions coordinator! (We do think alike, LMAO!)

@talha_adnan: Well technically you CAN say that but you’d probably get laughed at in Austin, they refer themselves as UT only while U of T is for Toronto. I know this because my brother studies in UT.

Cuz I’ve heard that there were very few acceptances into the sciences faculty of McGill from KGS but quite a few into the Arts.
