BTW we have Oxford and Cambridge on the list but no LSE. So if anyones got any info on LSE acceptances, plz update the list

I don’t think the UK acceptances count. You just show the British your ‘oversees fee rate’ and a few decent grades and you’re essentially in. Completely opposite to the Americans. In other words, being an international student while applying to the UK is an advantage while nothing could be far from the truth if you’re applying States side. Even without aid, US is much more competitive than the UK. Oxbridge - of course - is an exception but the LSEs and Imperials of the world are plain click and match. However, these acceptances can inflate our list if that’s what you guys want.

There may be competition for straight As in O/A Levels, but it no where as keen as that for American college/uni seats. In fact, getting 6-7As in O and 2-3As in A Levels is so commonplace now that UCLES is perfecting a new examination by the name of preU.

From my experience, I think 6-7 As in O-Levels and 3-4 As in A-Levels is commonplace in Pakistan only. At my old school in the middle-east, with a mix of dozens of different nationalities, there was a huge spread of grades- from straight Us to straight As. The vast majority did not get straight As unlike at schools here. But apparently straight As are becoming commonplace in the UK as well, although as far as I know, with 4 As at AS and 6-7 As in GCSE a UK national is pretty much into Cambridge.

No - he isn’t. A friend of mine who was a UK national had 6 GCSEs and 4As at AS (Mathematics at 99%) but he was rejected by Oxford outright. Had a good interview and didn’t apply for scholarships, he. And then we have Bilawal Bhutto who got in just like that. So Oxbridge is something different. Can’t generalize it.
