^I meant a UK national living in the UK. I don’t even know how relevant the percentages we get with our grades are, as Pakistan is the only country in which they are handed out. I don’t have any for my IGCSEs and GCSEs which I did from my old school. And I didnt mention my AS percentages in my US apps.

They are not percentages as is the general consensus. They are percentiles, something quite intangible and vulnerable.

PERCENTILES: “They reveal what may be important, but they hide what is definitely vital”

LOL :D

I’m actually in my gap year (second year of A Levels) and these are for kids from my grade. I don’t know much about the seniors this year but a lot of them are applying to Canada. In fact very few are applying to the U.S. this year. Anyways thats all I can remember for now.

If they are percentiles then CIE grading methodolgy is the most archaic of all other international exams. Fixing an A at the 90th percentile got banned in the UK in the 70’s or something like that.

^ I forward that

They don’t count man. Anyone can hop in some of these. Let’s keep the UK unis limited to Oxbridge, LSE and Imperial.

@ theGame: people at my school say they’re good. If you don’t want to count them, no problem. Btw any of you guys applied to middlebury?

Karpov did, perhaps talha_adnan and flibb also. You?

Yeah I did too. But after the Brandeis rejection I don’t have much hope.

Midd with aid? No one should shoulder any hope.

I applied to Midd too…with alot of aid.
^^^, why is applying to Midd with aid a total No-no? Isnt it the one that gives out the most aid for intels… and also need-blind?

Middlebury did indeed go need-blind for internationals this year. However due to the economic crisis it had to stop that policy. So unfortunately all of us applying for aid don’t have as much chances as we did before.

Ahh, could you tell us how you got to know about that no-policy please greenboy? I also applied to Midd…!

Oh, agreed with Game, Lets limit the British acceptances to Oxbridge and LSE and Imperial. Manchester…people from my school got in with CDU in AS Levels…

I second Game - University of Manchester not allowed on the list! Everyone has an offer from there.

I didn’t apply to Midd, but the international competition there is fierce! There is a long article on their website which tells about the changes Midd will undergo because of the Economic Crisis!

@khan91, @flibb:
I know it will hurt but here’s the truth: [Midd no longer need-blind for international students](http://www.middlebury.edu/administration/budget/challenge/letter_012909.htm)

awww…lets pray for the best!

ahh man…cheapsters :D

This means i was better of with not applying to Midd at that time(dec2008). Thanks to my intuitive feeling. !
