The official Pakistani Thread for the class of 2013

I am…tell us where you have applied, aak!

Me as well

Me too. :)

I think almost all the Community Colleges have never had Pakistani’s enrolled, but then again, who would wanna end up at a community college?

Nah. Some Pakistanis do use the community-college-to-Ivy-league approach. Can’t say it always works, but I know of at least one girl who studied at a community college in California and now is completing her final yr at Cal Berkeley. Not bad, but she didn’t require aid so.

I think we underestimate the very fine Polytechnics in the States. Places like Rensselaer, CalPoly, etc. Of course WPI is big here though.

Rensselaer, CalPoly are a few of the best tech institutions there are :)

^ But few ppl know. You’re an exception, as most ppl here on CC are :D

Oop! Looks like I didn’t follow up on my post yesterday!

A few clarifications: I’m not Indian; India rubber is another term for natural rubber.
I am also not male… and only honorarily Pakistani ( I went to Froebel’s for two years… my Urdu is,alas, truly borderline… I’m Italian in origin but I’m a fan of your culture, for what it counts). Finally, I’m not optimistic about ivy results at all! Just anxious to close this particular chapter in my life, and start a new one.

Perhaps I am in the wrong thread! Apologies to anyone I upset, and many thanks to theGame for sticking up for me.

I’m confident you’ll all do wonderfully :)

@Flibb
To be honest, I originally applied to the US on a whim as I had my heart set on LUMS for a pretty long time. Now LUMS looks a lot less appealing.
I’ve applied to only three colleges: ND, carleton and haverford. Don’t really think I stand much of a chance because my stats are okay without being unique and I applied for FA.

^ Roll in your stats, and we’ll chance you like experts :)

I’ve spent the past 15 min reading all the posts on this thread and you people seem to be a pretty knowledgeable bunch.

Let’s see how quickly you answer this:which LAC has the highest SAT math range amongst accepted students?

@IndiaRubber: Do let us know of your decisions! I think you have a fair chance at the Ivy league because of the diverse hybrid of backgrounds you will bring to campus. Best of luck!

OK, not knowledgeable or anything, but Williams?

wow i really missed quite alot in the thread so spent a good 10 minutes on it
First of all
@greenboy: I used to study in choueifat and my friends there are all graduating or have graduated(those who did the APs), anyway some of them don’t want to apply to the USA because they are scared of the SAT
@theGame: This time not many Aitchisonians applied to F&M, probably 1-2. I know one of them got rejected…his stats werent that good and he was asking for full aid or something like that.
