@mohammadeht: Bro, it takes two weeks from Saudi Arabia. I always used to think getting a UK visa was the easiest thing ever. Then I went to Pakistan and all I heard the people there talk was about how hard it is to go to the UK Canada is again 6 weeks for us, those living in Saudi. PLEASE confirm everything before (mis)guiding =)

As for the video: it had me in tears =P

=P =P

Also, isn’t the VISA procedure same for everywhere? If this is related to terrorists and stuff then Saudi Arabia should be equally tough, too…Anyways thanks for the reply…Oh and @talaltq Which uni did u get into? considering LUMS? your SAT score?

@mohammadeht: It’s more because people in Pakistan have a higher probability of going illegal in the said countries than those abroad. Do you agree? =) Anyway, this is my understanding. I’ve heard that it all depends on the Embassy representatives mood And look into the list for PIS Khobar, that’s me =) I’ve finalised on McMaster University for now, but yes LUMS is pretty much under consideration since it would considerably reduce the burden on my father. My SAT scores were 1840 but I didn’t apply to LUMS on SAT basis
I gave the admission test =)

WE now have a century of US universities…YAY! CLASS OF 2014!!!

@mohammadeht: Hey, do tell your friends who got into University of Prince Edward Island that they should go there ONLY if no other university gives them an offer The Canadian Embassy is known for rejecting visas for UPEI because the university is crap, they easily give admissions on the basis of scans, AND D graders get admission there without any problem.

@talaltq hahahahahah…I got in to UPEI too. NO CHANCE I WOULD GO THERE THOUGH! And they know it too!!! Oh, about the visa part, are you sure? UPEI must be realy crap, then!

And about the previous visa comment, the one about illegal immigrants, I TOTALLY AGREE! It’s not only Pakistan, though. It’s the whole region and that includes India. Bangladesh, too, to a smaller extent.

Oh, and GOOD luck with McMaster! Tis a great a uni too!!!

@mohammadeht: UPEI doesn’t even ask for the TOEFL scores to be sent from ETS, they are that “organized” That’s what I’ve seen about the visa, but again they were all duffers and D-graders don’t really get visa for Canada no matter what the university is =) UPEI is crap(poo) :P

Yeah to an extent yes, but many Indians are MUCH richer than the Pakistanis. 50,000 Indians go to Europe+North America every year, and I think a 1000 Pakistanis Of course, population is a factor but it’s not too significant.

Thank You! Yeah it was the best university which was in my budget. Didn’t even bother applying to McGill, etc., even though I might’ve got in, because I would be out of money in a year =P sigh :P

You decided on a uni yet? LUMS SDSB or SSE?

Any one know who got into MIT apart from Las and Roots. There is definitely a fourth, the MIT admissions say so… Someone name Doda khan

I heard someone from Balochistan got into MIT. He might be the person who are talking about…

Guy - MIT se parha hai.
Girl’s Father - America?
Guy - Mughalpura
Takes tissue and wipes it, they laugh, rishta pakka :p

Don’t you just love that Kleenex/Rose Petal ad? :P

Mughalpura Institute of Technology wah wah!

*wipes face :P

The thread goes dead

bump!

@talaltq
Yeah! Decided! I have got two options:
If I have enough money… University of Manchester (1st Choice) University of Birmingham (2nd Choice) - Both Materials Science and Engineering.
If I DONT have enough money - LUMS/NUST - Depends on what I want to do. You see, the, admissions for LUMS/NUST are not out, so still not decided about them. LUMS SSE (1st choice) and SDSB (2nd Choice). Though I am not going to SDSB anyhoo.

btw, I think there is not much difference in fees for McGill and McMaster. Only 1000 $ for Science and Engineering. You doing Engineering? Which one? or Business or law? or Medical?

@Dark_Angel: Yeah the thread got dead and my attempt at a joke got spoilt =P

@mohammadeht: Please yaaaar, why would you go to NUST? LUMS, I can understand, but NUST compared to the UK? Look into Malaysia, they have amazing universities, and I’m not talking about the Malaysian universities, I’m talking about the private institutions, there are atleast three Australian universities in Malaysia =) Plus the University of Nottingham, you can transfer after a year or two to the UK ;)

hahaha kya hogaya hai! There’s a HUGE difference between McMaster and McGill fees, McGill’s business tuition fees is C$27,000 + Living expenses = C$40,000! McMaster is 14,400 + Living expenses = C$25,000. HUGE Difference. And I’ll be doing Business (you got that already :P)

The thread shall live!

Well compared to other state schools, the engineering program isn’t the best (Berkley, UCLA, UT Austin, Michigan Ann Arbor). And as far as the whole being ‘racist’ thing goes, for what it’s worth I have a couple of Asian friends…i dont ‘dislike’ the race…i just dislike their attitude

@talaltq So you are doing Business… I didn’t know about the tuition fees about that but for Engineering, McGill costs 22,000$ and McMaster costs 21,000$.

Like I said, IF I DON’T have enough money, then NUST or LUMS. Otherwise, Manchester or Birmingham.
And about, Malaysia, I don’t want to go to a place where people have small noses or walk weird! =P =P Btw, I did apply to National University of Singapore which is in Singapore. =P =P

So you are final about McMaster’s business. GOOD! =D =D
Anyways, you got any backup plans if, God forbids, anything goes wrong…Because you can never be sure about anything…
