@pakipower — I happen to have this Algerian friend who was trying to prove Rebecca Black’s song is a “genius” and that its really great and stuff, people literally pwned the guy in a Facebook debate.
And about Rebecca, I heard from somewhere that she believes she’s being “cyber-bullied” by everyone regarding her song, and that the criticism of the song from various sources falls under the former category. Seriously, she’s confused, considering the fact that Time Magazine’s criticism counts as “bullying” -.-

Did any of you guys apply to Berkeley btw? Their decisions seem to have leaked 4 days in advance of the notification date lol!

Berkeley was an option suggested to me by my brother, I didn’t apply though, some feeling in the gut which led me not to apply, I can’t even explain the feeling.

I didn’t apply either. I think, for me, it was a combination of being OOS (Michigan) and the UC budget cuts which have almost bankrupted Berkeley and LA. It is apparently very hard to graduate in 4 years from there now, what with classes being limited.

@pakipower — you’re from Michigan? cool! have you applied to U-Mich btw? my brother literally loves that school, and it’s his No.1 choice. He is hoping to complete both Engineering and Economics (Ross) degrees so it would be beneficial for him.

Budget cut = Less financial assistance… thank God I didn’t apply, I could have been stuck in a bad financial situation. :)

Actually, at UCs there is NO financial assistance for OOS’ers whatsoever. And I think that’s how it’s always been.

Yes, I was admitted EA to Michigan LSA.

Nice. Yeah, doing those two degrees will open up a lot of doors for your brother. I wish him the best of luck!
[Although, I am fairly sure that Economics is only offered in the LSA. Ross has Finance/Accounting, etc.]
