<p>Incar: Yeah, what with you being here. Lol, I dropped by the secret or whatever group btw. Pakistan isn’t in the ‘Mideast’, it’s in South Asia. I thought we were taught that in 3rd grade. 
Anyways, what’s up incarcerated?</p>

<p>i rented a projector for tomorrows(todays) match and the guy who’s got that projector just ‘texted’ me saying that the projector was dead and he couldnt deliver it to me tomorrow. what a bummer. i feel like texting him back some really nice things.</p>
<p>I wrote a big paragraph regarding what I’ll miss about Pakistan in general if I do go abroad, and all what it displayed were the first 4 words. Seriously, death to the internet in this region. I have an 8mbps Wi-Fi connection here in AD, but govt. here puts a limit on bandwidth and blocks some proxies which in turn deteriorates internet speed.
Although websites open fast enough, torrent downloads are affected most. All other stuff works pretty fine. Back in Karachi I just have a 1mbps broadband connection and it can download an 800mb file in say max. 6 hours, compared to here, where it takes some 4-5 days. :/</p>
<p>I’ll miss everything about Pakistan if I do go abroad: the weddings and parties I’ve attended, family outings, late-night TV and movie marathons, and the places I’ve visited. :)</p>

<p>Kimathi, you’re not intruding at all! In fact, we’re honored to have an MIT admit post on our humble thread (where all kinds of MIT rejectees including myself are sitting)! Haha it’s not just about stats man, it’s also whether you’re a good fit for the college and how much luck is on your side 
Anyways, MIT is a huge achievement!
I am gonna so miss Pakistan…Gol gappas, walking in the narrow ‘galis’ of bazaars, playing cricket at 1 am with my friends under street lights, riding with 3 other people on one motorcycle, the food (mind you, even veggies in the States are tasteless and horrible, for those of you who are thinking about becoming vegetarians due to the lack of Halal).

<p>Lol I haven’t been given any good offer of admission to be thinking about the things I’ll miss about Pakistan but I bet if I get to it, it’s gonna be a nice and long list

<p>Freakozoid: My mother doesn’t eat meat in restaurants in the States either. She enjoys Indian-Vegetarian food, though. Do try that. Food wont be a problem. :)</p>

<p>Murtaza: Yeah, I do the same. A lot of Pakistanis don’t know that the health standards and regulations for meat are a lot higher in the US. </p>
<p>The chicken farms in Pakistan are ridiculously gross (I can post links here but trust me you guys don’t want to see them :P).</p>

<p>I think they will win, not that I care though. I mean, Pakistan does have more pressing problems: Religious Fundamentalism (which has now become mainstream), Poverty, Illiteracy, etc. Seems like most people I talk to care more about 11 guys playing cricket well than any of these things. </p>
<p>On a side note, yes I do know that I sound like a total tool. :D</p>
<p>Considering a broad base, cricket is seen on a national level in Pakistan. So any outcome in the sport can tend to have an affect the mood of general public (I’m not going towards the mood of a certain individual though, it may depend). If we win, it does give the public a moment of celebration, and in this world, such moments are slowly becoming rare.
So even though I’m not a die-hard cricket fan, I’ll still appreciate that moment. :)</p>
<p>I do hope that Shoaib plays. Otherwise it would be an ignominious end to a great fast bowler’s career.</p>
