I don’t know, but my application is still pending =[ I had a dream where I got rejected from all the schools I applied to… this waiting is getting to me

@ thatketchup, everyone has that dream when applying to schools. now if you were scared of not getting accepted to uc merced, ucr, cal state la, or csu fresno well, i hope no one ever encounters that.

hahaha this is awesome. Totally ridiculous, but awesome. I can’t believe this thread already has 6 pages and it isn’t even a day old hahahah

@SFwarrior, Emilsinclair

hahaha I love the back and forth! UCLA is my dream school and have basically put all my eggs into that basket (t shirts, apartments lined up, etc.) I would be crushed if I didnt get accepted!

@janethedoe

If you dont mind me asking, what was the reason they rescinded your admission?

der134ch3l0r- i had a provisional contract that stated i needed to complete my transferable math course before Spring 2009.

i failed miserable, they took my admission away
it was the ultimate ■■■ moment

@Janethedoe- Awww im so sorry! Is UCLA still where you want to go?

Oh and I had a question for anyone that can answer. If I have all my IGETC and all but 1 prerequisite for my major done, will they still accept me? My ccc only offers that one prereq once every other semester and with my schedule and everything, I couldn’t take it. Would UCLA not accept me? It’s PoliSci 25 (political theory) (PoliSci major) and I have everything done. (GPA 3.72, hella extracurrics, and 2 AA degrees, essays good)

night 2. bump

How are things, still stressing? Me too…I’m an English major who spent 6 months at one of the most challenging language schools and passed. I worked with language for 6 years thereafter and currently get A’s in all my courses…minus math (B-), but I have realized that I didn’t do any pre-reqs for my major. I did one additional English course, Intro to Lit, but nothing else and that course doesn’t count. I misunderstood the whole too many credits to transfer rules (I didn’t realize cc units don’t count). I’m coasting on a glimpse of a hope that they will look at my experience with language and weigh it more heavily than my lack of 3 courses. I haven’t heard from any schools yet…

der134ch3l0r-yeah UCLA is still my choice, unless i get into CAL, then i would reconsider, but UCLA is a fine university.

Lala, that sux thats totally ■■■ status :(

Yeah night 2 lol.

Well guys I survived my speech midterm today.
I have my chem midterm tomorrow.
I have my psych midterm on friday.
I have my abnormal psych essay and 3 chapters on notes due saturday.

I think it’s safe to say that I’ll be procrastinating on here for an unhealthy amount of time over the next few days.

@ der134ch3l0r: There’s still a chance. UCLA is pretty strict on prereqs, so not having one done doesn’t look great. However, your GPA, EC’s, and AA degrees all look good. I would say you could def still be admitted.

Have you thought about signing up for UCLA summer school? If they saw that and you notified them, it would probably look like you’re very serious about having everything done on time and are committed to your major/UCLA. I don’t see how it could hurt. You could register, and if you don’t get in either use the summer school as an appeal strategy or just withdraw altogether and get your money back.

As an example: I applied to UCB Phil, but none of the prereqs are offered at my school, which I think is ridiculous lol. Anyway, I said on my app update that I was planning on taking them over the summer to get ahead. I don’t know if it’ll help at all, but hopefully the admissions reps will see that I’m conscientious, ya know?

Good luck Emil! I somehow managed to avoid mid terms this semester!

@ lala: Omg you’re so lucky! Thank you though
lol.

I have no motivation this semester.

My accounting course is easy beyond what I could of imagined. A lot of the assignments are graded on completion , so nearly everyone gets full credit on quizzes/hw. The tests aren’t hard, the questions are worded in a complicated manner… but I got 100% on it without studying… I just completed the allowed note card… which I had plenty of room leftover. Oh yeah, the prof sometimes brings in mini candy bars and bakes brownies for the class. I think I’ve said enough for people to know who this professor & where this school is.

My other classes have very few assignments , just two exams , final , and maybe a paper or something here and there. I don’t feel like I’m learning much in these classes. But the upside is that I’m getting the PellGrant/ACG checks… word.

OH YEAH, I haven’t heard a damn thing from the UCs yet. I took a pre-req over the winter and there is still no grade request for it.

hey, I’m moving in the RIGHT direction, went to sleep at 8AM three nights ago… then 7AM… then yesterday was 5AM and today, I’m hoping for 3 or 4AM.

orange coast college with neil? I’ve got her this semester for ACCT102 and ACCT110 and I will say they are easy

Lala, what’s your secret??? :)

And Emil to answer your question from the other thread, I’m taking 18 units, but I did that last semester and the one before that too, so it ain’t no thang but a chicken wang… wow- I really am tired…

Off to look @ the UCLA Summer Schedule… Can you believe there isn’t even ONE CCC that has an equivalent for Poli Sci 30??? (Poli Strategy/Game Theory) I know because I literally sat there on Assist a few months ago and checked. And it just happens to be the ONE I need to take about 5 upper div courses once I get to UCLA (gettin’ cocky here)… ■■■?

Double ■■■- UCLA won’t offer Poli Sci 30 (ohhh, but every other poli sci class) during summer.

Lol that sucks kernl. I know what ya mean. I need 3 phil courses that are prereqs, but none of them (nada) are offered at any of the CCC’s near me! lol I mean I’m going to be entering UCB with no prereqs done…which is why Im planning on switching into Psych, in which I have nearly all prereqs done.

Damn, Poli Sci 30 just seems to evade you lol. Hopefully you’ll be able to take it in the fall along with some upper divs. You can take your last lower div at the same time as your upper divs, right? If not, then I’m screwed for upper divs in the fall too lol.

God I really want to hear back from UCLA and UCB. I’ve been thinking more about them every day. Glad I have you guys for support here!

I think my motivation is starting to dwindle away as well. I’m taking 22 credits and it only feels like 22 credits when finals week comes around. Except I’m maintaining a course schedule that even the econ department here told me not to attempt. I really think I should be trying harder, but it seems my cramming before midterms/finals is all I need to get by this quarter.

I’m taking a math class that’s essentially calc 4, enrolled in a physics class where people are dropping left and right, and I have 2 upper div courses (econ and comp engineering). I don’t know why I’m taking all these courses, but it’s starting to scare me how little effort I put in this quarter while maintaining A’s in all these courses. However the 4 hours of sleep I’ve gotten this WHOLE week (currently finals week at UCSC) might be an indicator of my slacking off. I don’t know why I’m online either…

22 units on the quarter system at UCSC?! That’s insane. Wow, and I thought 18 at a CCC (semester system) was semi-difficult. Props to you MidnightGolfer.

Haha, well 90% of the courses here are 5 unit classes, so most people just take 3 classes for 15 credits (or 17 if theres a lab involved). I was registered for 17 and I thought I might want to double major in computer engineering when I transfer, so I just took the plunge and took an upper div comp class. So far my work schedule is somewhat bearable, but basically all my courses involve math and numbers. That get’s ugly come exam time :/
