@Empathyinanarchy: haha a whole lot of the pre-reqs, I’m missing the physics series, and the second year of math and now that I want to do EE instead of Comp E. I’m missing Chem. I’ve been at JC for 2.5 years and I only figured out for sure I wanted to do Engineering a year and a half ago, and then they made me take Pre-Calc before I could start Calculus. I was pretty sure I was going to be rejected but I have over 60 units and solid A’s in every pre-req I had completed (got 99% on both my calc 2 midterms so far ) so if I had the opportunity to get out of CC I want it (and yes I do know it will take at least 3 years to graduate after transfer if I do get in anywhere ).

But you’re right about engineering and thats why I keep coming back to it, it’s just tempting to do econ since it would be easier, I could graduate in less time and I feel I would have a very solid shot at CAL or UCLA.

well i doubt youd get in missing the entire physics series + LA & DE. However, I do applaud you for switching to engineering. I did something similar. I went from business administration to Engineering. Never looked back.
EDIT: and missing calc 3…and the programming series…and the engineering sciences. haha sorry to rain on your parade man :p

Davis was beautiful! I can actually really see myself there! After visiting it today, Davis is actually now my #1. CAL tomorrow though, Davis’s throne is at risk!

@edelynly It is gorgeous! The whole place gave me the summer camp in yosemite feel. I loved it. Lots of trees, beautiful places to walk and relax, the housing was great, just overall win. I hope Berkeley is similar, because I WANT to want Berkeley :)

And I couldn’t smell the cow poo smell I hear about either. So glad, too!

@solidblu, please take into consideration that it is Spring and it’s one of the very short windows of time when Davis actually has good weather. I just doubt you’d be saying it’s beautiful had you visited during their 100+ degree summer.

@SFwarrior: I’ve got programming done as it was one of the only pre-reqs I could take before I got into the math. And yeah don’t worry about raining on my parade, as I’m not really expecting to get in (except to UCSD where I have a TAG since pre-reqs aren’t a condition of the TAG)

I was at UC Davis for four days in Feb. and I had a great time. Actually, I really fell in love with it. Not once did I smell cows or cow poop; however, I did see and smell many cows on the way there.

I decided to log on to my UCLA URSA account, and see if financial aid was posted (you know, that whole “if you see financial aid, you’re likely in” thing.) Nothing yet. I know it’s too early, but I just wanted to see!

@iluvpho Exactly, that’s part of what turned me off. The cows and the middle-of-nowhere thing. Been there, done that. In contrast, when I went to the UCSD campus I immediately fell in love . . .but that’s just me

i only applied to schools that i knew i would love being around for two years of my life.

Los Angeles- my love, my life, my everything.

Berkeley- San Francisco nuff said, i want to pay homage to Hendrix’s Live at Berkeley and get back to my hippie roots and pay homage to Haight-Ashbury.

San Diego- my first love, pacific beach, gaslamp district.
