Very interesting, but it doesn’t mention one of the other major barriers to retaining physicians in rural areas: the alarming rate of closures and bankruptcies of small town/rural hospitals.
More than 20% of rural/small town hospitals will likely go out of business in the next 3 years. Closures have reached an epidemic rate in most rural areas.
