Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but the actor who plays musician Jack is also legally blind. Wanted to give a shout out to the show for their casting and the effort they made as representation is so important.
Agree to rewatch the episode!
I didnât realize that was Tim Mattheson! I KNEW he was familiar but didnât think about it too hard.
@abasket - I first thought Rebeccaâs dad was Timothy Hutton but wasnât sure, so I googled.
Finally figured out the husband is Jack from Revenge!
Loved the episode! Right at the beginning, before I realized that the new character was blind, I asked my husband if he thought we were seeing Kevin at another age. Wouldnât really make sense butâŠ
Do we know for certain that Malik is the father of the baby? Malik looked like he was 16 or 17 and the baby was young but not a newbornâŠhe is so young to be a father
And I asked dh who the actress playing the PTSD woman was. He came up with House and then we laughed bc we were both die-hard Once Upon a Time fans. Nice to see her again but on the fence about her character.
Iâm happy the season has started.
Yes, Malik is young to be a father ⊠but not too young to be a father.
Malik called himself âdaddyâ when he picked her up from the crib. I had to rewind to make sure I heard that right since he looks only 14 or 15 to me.
^^I missed that. Will be interesting to find out the back story.
Yep. As soon as I saw Kevin arranging a flight to go help Nicky, I knew that would be what is coming soon.
Did you notice that the young daughter of Randall was in the Subaru commercial?
I did like how they strung everything together although Iâm confused why Miguel was in the clothing shop. I thought they met under other circumstances.
Did we ever see Rebeccaâs parents last season? Like when her husband dies in a fire, do they not even come to help her?
I know weâve seen Elizabeth Perkins as her mother.
After I realized the blind guy was Jack,. I laughed at the thought that they made new Jack butt-naked in the season opener like old Jack was in the series opener.
It took me until tonight to finally sit down & watch the season opener - I wasnât thrilled, but I love the guy playing Malik (Asante Blackk) he was in When They See Us. Iâll watch just for him!
I watched it just now. I cried at baby Jack -----> grown up Jack. Nice!
I really liked the ending with all the pool iterations, including toddler Big Three and the song, âSomeday Soon.â Was that in another episode? It sounds so familiar from some poignant TV show. Also, who were in the beach chairs in the very last scene?
The Pearsons were in the beach chairs at the end, in the background. Iâm not sure who the people were in the foreground.
An interesting part was when Kevin asks his dad why he does so many bad things. Jack tells him that the men in their family tend to have rough emotional issues, but then says that âhaving people to care aboutâ will turn Kevin into the man he wants to be. That got me thinking about Kevinâs past relationships with women. There have been A LOT. Who do you remember?
I did a little Googling and discovered the Alexi Murdoch song was in Season 1âs âThe Poolâ episode. Last night was titled âThe Pool: Part 2â so thatâs a nice bridge from the first season. And Iâm pretty amazed I recognized it since there have been dozens of songs in âThis is Usâ since then.
They got me on this episode. I cried. The writers really catch my emotional core. I liked this episode, it felt like the first season. I recognized that song too @Barbalot - I had to double check.
I like that they are continuing to use the same child actors and just having the Pearson kids grow up.
I cried because I wish my son had been diagnosed with blindness rather than schizophrenia. Ugh.
