This made my day...

Alright, so I wanted a job at Barnes and Nobles..apparently a bunch of people were on the wait for the same job I wanted. But the manager comes in, and asks me if I'm really going to Duke this fall. And he takes me in the interview me immediately lol. Everything's successful and I get it!! The other people look so disgruntled and I'm like wow...I couldn't believe this just happened.
Colleges do help!

Haha nice :D

Congrats! I always wanted to work in a bookstore. I'm too young though >.<

Hey guys, I'll be working in the Barnes Noble this Summer too. haha (hopefully) :/

I commend you for making a motivating thread, John.

Oh..lucky! I do not live near any * good * bookstores. I have to get my mom to drive me atleast 45min.

CONGRATS :]

Congratsssssss! :)

Last year I REALLY wanted to work at barnes & noble or starbucks. But I was still kinda young for it :/

I applied for jobs @ Caribou Coffee <3 and McDonalds a couple months ago and still haven't heard back! I'll contact them again and see what's up. I'll probably end up working at McDonalds though :[ hahahaha...

Congratulations! That's awesome. I'd love to work at the B&N here, but I've only ever worked in tge neighborhood where it is and think that my parents are quite tired of driving me almost 30 mins to work.

wow lucky!

I can't get a job anywhere. I even interviewed at McDonald's and I still don't think they're going to hire me :/

I guess it's easier to get into Brown than a fast food restaurant

Wow. Congratulations.

So, it seems that going to a prestigious university does have some perks. Maybe, when I apply for a summer job, I should say that I am going to Harvard, hoping that the people won't do a background check.

^ They can easily tell whether you're intellectual enough to attend the school through an interview. So it's highly recommended and the best to not falsify an interrogation. Otherwise, they don't have to hire you either.

^Oh. Since you say that, my plan will become an utter failure then.

Other than spewing out prestige, try to elaborate some of the reasons why you want to work for your employer. Give them a reason not to look at your academic background.

Ah...Although you're giving good advice, initially, I was just joking with that post.

Then obviously you should not post here. It's a waste of my time and yours. Just a heads up: That kind of attitude can also lead to a rejection letter by employers. :)

Someone's got a shard of glass up their ass.

You know what made my day? This thread here <a href="">;/a>! For some strange reason I find what the OP proposed kind of hilarious. LOL, maybe it's just me. Probably a troll, but he made my day.

Someone's got a shard of glass up their ass.

Lol, this also made my day. Someone cannot gramatically shift an appropriate objective pronoun.

^Stop being so serious with everything :).

Alright, but I'm only joking on some parts. Some people are just too funny to be even taken serious.

Seriously. Quit sitting on pointy objects and perhaps you'd be in a far better mood.

Or maybe you just have a bad case of constipation. My granny gets irritable when she's blocked up too. Take some Dulcolax. You'll smile more.

I couldn't even understand a finger of a word you said. If you're trying to sound intelligent, it's already failing.

Why don't you hop off like a rabbit back to the fence and stop actually smelling the pollen of flowers? I know you like them alot, but your obessesion shows no intrigue.
