Tiger Woods

I agree- have tried to get back to to the topic but obviously football is hotter! Golf not so much. Go Steelers!
Tom Brady can do what he wants about his issues with his current and future children. It is none of my business.

“Public figures are never who we think they are.”

Heck, our next door neighbor is rarely who we think they are. ;)

Actually, you are on to something. I guess it is an amendment by agreement to the pre-nup.

True post-nups in certain states (usually comunnity property states), can be tricky.

IMO–good faith working on the marriage relationship by both parties (in many cases including marriage/couples counseling) is sort of a post-nup with the stated goal to make a go of the marriage.

Given the right circumstances, even we aren’t who we think we are. OK–WAY too deep and --time to go be with the spouse.

I wonder why do very rich people get married for, I can’t think of a good reason for either sex.

guitaristsmom- How are you so sure that I do not know Tom Brady other than what I read in the paper?

o7 dad–interesting fact that 1 in 10 babies is not the husband’s child.

"I wonder why do very rich people get married for, I can’t think of a good reason for either sex. "

I agree with you.

I hate this whole pre nup post nup stuff. It blows my mind that the terms will be changed because wife has him by the golfballs if you know what I mean. Whatever happened to love.

I think this is one of the more ridiculous storylines I’ve heard in awhile. The man gets a fender bender and now his “transgressions” are being splayed all over the news media? Why? Why does this always happen? The media will tear this story apart for the next few weeks, even though it should be left to be a private one. Then they’ll throw it away as they move onto their next victim. Tiger’s marriage is most likely going to crumble, and his kids will have to deal with both the backlash of their parents’ broken marriage and being a public spectacle (in a totally different way than before). And then once they’re adults and majorly screwed up, they’ll be in the spotlight again with people–the same people making and gossiping about this story now–shaking their heads and wondering how they got to be that way. Really, it’s sick. Is this what people call “entertainment”? Why is any of this our business?

:(

I don’t think Tom has issues. Now I hear Big Ben got himself in a bit of trouble with a hotel worker… hmmmm.

RE: Tom Brady -
Bridget Moynihan is the mother of his child. Shortly after they broke up, she discovered she was pregnant. They could have chosen abortion, he could have walked away and paid her off. I say, good for Tom for acknowledging this child and choosing to be his Dad. Good for Bridget for choosing to be a Mom and including Tom in the baby’s life.
Tom married Gisele Bundchen last winter and they are expecting a child.
Frankly, I don’t know how Tom could have a family life during football season and play for the Patriots. His family is in Ca and he playing on the east coast - he has what? 8 years left to play? He does get 6 months off a year.

Tiger - interesting this may have begun around the time his father died. That had probably something to do with it. I do hope they can patch things up.

If that’s the case, then the only good reason for everyone else (i.e. the non-rich) to get married is the money.

Great to hear with Tom. I mentioned this many posts ago about this with Tiger seeming to escalate after his dad’s death?.

Lots of people lose parents and they don’t go immediately cheating on their spouses. You hear people use it as an excuse (wasn’t that Kanye’s excuse for the Taylor incident?) but many people have lost close family members and still been able to conduct themselves in an ethical manner. But yeah, he might use that as an excuse.

You are right. He should not use as an excuse but do wonder.

I hope he has an airtight prenup.

he has disappointed a lot of people.

Well, when you’re coddled, when you think you are special, I guess any excuse seems rational.

I remember when they were first getting married. I thought she was absolutely gorgeous, from an objective female point of view. There was a question somewhere of how does Tiger get to marry a beautiful blond model? And the answer was “because he can.” And somehow, what looks like the perfect life from the outside, still isn’t. It’s sad on one hand; no one really has it as perfect as it looks. And some things that look imperfect, the spouses with the sagging waistlines, the kids not getting into Ivy schools, and some of us are happy anyway. I’ve already had too much wine tonight, and it’s only Wednesday.

I think we are all trying to understand why a man who seems to have it “all” would risk it for what - sex? thrill? Elin is stunning and he has 2 young, young children. If this were a one time lapse of judgement…maybe…but this was ongoing. Unfortunately, it shows a lack of character.

She is gorgeous. The sad part is that the other girls are not all that good looking. They have gold digger written all over them. Look how fast they ran to the press to sell their stories.

Tega how are you a new member with over 4 Billion posts?

CC messed up  I am not actually a new member.

“She is gorgeous. The sad part is that the other girls are not all that good looking. They have gold digger written all over them. Look how fast they ran to the press to sell their stories.”

I heard a local DJ saying on the radio that she was puzzled by this as well, until her male friend explained (from his young male perspective), “You get tired of steak if you get to eat it every day, and sometimes you want a hot dog”
