I have a friend who theorizes that men cheat with women who are more “tolerant” than their wives. Someone they can look down on and use. Now, this sounds pretty cynical to me and I’m sure not all cheating men are so low (right?), but I’m betting Tiger fits this mode.

Some men? No, you mean all men. That’s hardwired biology. Being able to sleep with a lot of women (not prostitutes) is the truest mark of an ‘alpha male’.

^^^^ Sounds like all men are dogs, in every sense of the word.

Yes, Payne, they kept referring to him last night as an alpha male. Jeez…biology is destiny!?

Alpha male, shmalfa male. Humans are socialized, moral beings with the capacity to exercise appropriate judgement and reasoning and impose it on, and modulate their biological “urges” or behavior. Men who act like he did, with long term affairs, dishonesty, and lack of consideration of the impact of their behaviors on others and others’ feelings aren’t A males, they are A holes.

Good one, jym626! I do hope though they can work it out for the sake of the kids if they try to salvage the marriage. The comments from Jesper Parnevik about all of this are very interesting.

:)
:)

Mrs. Sanford’s been getting alot of press lately…impressive…moving on (and OUT!) and may run for office herself. I say, “You go, girl!”. I just hope I don’t see Tiger’s wife standing there, dewey eyed next to him anytime soon. In that he’ll be underwater til at least January I guess I won’t be seeing it.

No surprise that he will not be attending any, including his own golf tournament fro the rest of the year.

Sadly, I doubt his marriage will survive. He will be relegated to the doghouse. He maintained one of the affairs for about half of his marriage?? Hard to earn back trust after that. For many kids, living in an unhappy household with parents in conflict is unhealthier than living with a single parent who may hopefully get into a healthy, happy new relationship.

True, jym626, If he cannot change his ways, the kids would be better off without him in the home. Will be interesting to see if they do stay together. That is between them at this point.

Apparently Huffington Post is reporting that another one’s coming out of the woodwork today in a press conference. (Uchitelle who said before she wasn’t involved) The plot thickens.

Perfectly said.

Then Miss Grubbs or whatever her name is turns around after 31 months with him and sells her story to US for 100K!

^^^ maybe her name should be ms. money grubbs

“Sadly, I doubt his marriage will survive.”

If his marriage ends, I would call it “sad” only because of his behavior that led to the ending. Otherwise, I think that his wife and kids would be better off not being with someone who is a liar and serial cheater. Think of the diseases he could have exposed his wife to! Think of the lies he had to have been telling her (including when she was pregnant) for this to have gone on so long.

However, it wouldn’t surprise me if she stays. We’ve seen that time and time again with celebrities. I think it can be hard for many women to give up the “good life” of being in the reflected glow of a celebrity. She could take the money and run, but then she wouldn’t still get the many perks of being connected to him socially.

It may be that she decides that the benefit of being connected with the world’s top athlete – not to mention being with a man who is tall, dark, handsome and impossibly rich – are too great to pass up.

Since having a gorgeous wife and kids also helps him with endorsements, etc., I imagine that Tiger will be offering her a “house on a finger” as well as other inducements to stay. He also may be offering promises, promises…

sevmom-
Just saw your addition to your post #346. Are your referring to this line

from this article? [Jesper Parnevik, who introduced Elin Nordegren to Tiger Woods, lashes out - ESPN](<a href=“Banks scores 29 off the bench, Saint Bonaventure beats Saint Joseph's 91-72 - ESPN”>Jesper Parnevik, who introduced Elin Nordegren to Tiger Woods, lashes out - ESPN)
He is right on the money.

“Then Miss Grubbs or whatever her name is turns around after 31 months with him and sells her story to US for 100K!”

The woman is pretty dumb to have settled for so little.

With his billion dollars, Tiger could have offered her a much larger “gift” to keep her mouth shut.

But, who knows, perhaps whatever her name is also plans to have a reality show: “Sex styles of the Rich and Famous.”

I sincerely hope she doesnt stay for these reasons. Women have come a long way since the “arm candy” days. She has 2 children with him. She will forever be tied to him. She deserves better than some skeez who can’t keep it in his pants. Now there is another woman surfacing? And one is blasting old saved voicemails across the airwaves? Gee, he sure knows how to pick 'em.

And a book: “Chicken Soup for the Rich and Famous Thinking About Marriage”

jym626- didn’t see the article but saw him on a tv interview with similar sentiments.
