My husband tried that one on me, once, I mean giving me clues, because I was not as when we first met, 21 years ago. Cost him $700.00 that month, and he was not impressed by the “useless spending”. But I shopped and shopped to make myself pretty for him. No time to clean the house, or to cook, really. I was so pretty, I felt above those demeaning chores. Then, I begin giving him clues of what I expected of him as he did of me. You know, his hair thinning and turning white, his pot belly, his wrinkles, his lack of energy while at home, etc He got the point that a relationship goes two ways.

Tone, I grew up in a family that when we visited my father, my mother would say we were going to the cemetary. To us she would say he was DEAD. He not only cheated on her, but hired attorneys to hide his money from his inventions (Dad invented Rise Gel, softsoap, Pre-Sun, Sundown, Sea and Ski 29, Polo cologne, Anais Anais and Ruffles). We as children went from having vacation homes and Cessna’s to applying for Pell Grants for college.

The only way to keep it civil is if the person who was wrong steps up to the plate and is fair and just to those that they harmed.

LY my SIL, Bullet’s sister, called one Saturday morning in tears, within hrs he and our DD at her home, traveling hundreds of miles to help her collect her life. Her husband left and served her with divorce papers out of what we thoought was the blue, we all thought that the marriage was over. 6-8 weeks later she took him back and reconciled. During that time period, we supported her, but never spoke ill of him, because we knew that if they reconciled it would have been that much harder on the marriage knowing the family disapproved. We left it in her hands, if she was willing to forgive, and wanted to give it another try, as family we needed to stand up behind her and help her. Did Bullet and I think he was an ARSE? YES, but it was not our place to make her live her life through our beliefs.

My Mom learned a lot through her divorce. She has taught me one true lesson through her adage…“I don’t pay their mtg, their bills, raise their kids, or sleep in their bed, it is not my business”.

It looks like Elin wants Tiger to quit golf for some time in order to save the marriage. I am not sure this is possible for Tiger although I think it is a great idea. He should fire all of his people including agents, pr folks, caddie, etc. All the people that have enabled him over the years. Take a year off and work on the relationship of his wife and kids. Spend time in Sweden where he can walk around without TMZ following. After a year, make your come back. This would be a refreshing story and I am sure Tiger would gain back the respect that he currently has lost.

This is what I call saving face, because I think TW is finished, whether his wife wants him to quit golf or not.
As for the enablers around him, I did not know that. So, TW did not actually want to sleep with any other women. It was his entourage that was seeking these women, and creating opportunities for him to sleep with them?
And Sweden without TMZ does not sound like a very good idea to me. Without supervision, can he fight the temptation, especially in Sweden? :)

Those are his trusted friends who did what he paid them to do.

The idea is laughable that moving to Sweden will allow him to restrain himself from having affairs. Sweden is filled with exactly the type of women whom he craves.

How many time TWs wife met his entourage during the course of these years? They probably knew of his sexual affairs, and still were capable to look her in the face. If I was her, just the thought of past conversations with them would make me mad.

NSM, Sweden is not really filled with beautiful, tall, blond ladies wearing size 32DDD bras. Although I agree that escape to Sweden will not help restore the peace, love and trust in his family.

eucalyptus2, why would you think TW is finished in golf? The man CAN play golf like pretty much no other mortal on the planet. He is the best player in the world, in spite of occasional losses. Plenty of golfers on the PGA tour have been divorced and gone on to lucrative remainders of their careers. Remember, golfers can make a living playing until they are well into their 60s (literally). He may not have many endorsements for a while, but there is no reason to think that he cannot or will not make a living on the PGA tour. Even if he takes a brief break, he really is superbly trained for this one activity, and I don’t believe for a minute that he will permanently walk away from the game. Also, hate to say it, but most PGA fans are male… and they will forgive and forget. As if it matters, he can still play and win even if the fans despise him.

You’re right about the bra sizes, but when I visited Sweden I was amazed at the very high precentage of tall, blonde, beautiful, young women. I’ve never seen anything like it. I had earlier been to Finland and thought that was pretty good, but Sweden took it to a whole other level.

But the funny thing is, after a while I noticed that all the beautiful women in Sweden were quite young - in their 20s. By time they hit 40 the beautiful ones had nearly all disappeared. Too much sun and too many sausages I guess.

This was in sharp contrast to say France, where many women were still looking very good right through their 40s and 50s.

Yeah, diet too rich in Swedish meatballs is the bane of many a middle-aged Scandanavian woman. For the men, it’s the Norweigian lutefish that does the damage. Show me a man who loves lutefish and I’ll show you a lifelong bachelor with no prospects for marriage.
