Tiger Woods

I’ve heard that he’ll play the local tournament next week where he lives, then Arnold Palmer’s tournament in Bay Hill, then the Masters. I love Mike Lupica from the Daily News this a.m. saying, “not sure they want the circus coming to town there!”.

This thread made my holidays so much fun! I’ve missed all this delicious nonsense. His speech is about to begin…

I see that Tiger’s mom is expected to be by his side during his press conference. I guess Tiger isn’t man enough to take responsibility by himself, but had to drag his unfortunate mother into this since his wife wouldn’t join him.

It would be nice if he would actually speak from the heart, rather than from a prepared statement…

Scary, he sounds like Tim Geithner! on CNBC no less.

He needs a prepared statement to keep his lies straight.

Tell us what he said. I’m at work and can’t access it.

He needs a caddy to carry around all this baggage, too. He needs an iron to get the wrinkles out of his story. ;)

Link to a minute by minute description of his actions at his press conference: [Celebrity Gossip | Entertainment News | Celebrity News | TMZ.com](http://www.tmz.com/)

Good effort - he got everything done that he needed to do. I’m not a fan in the least, I work in the business and the way he has held himself as so above the other players and media is legendary. Don’t know anyone among myself or colleagues who don’t think he’s a total d&ck. Good that he mentioned not only his whole cheating thing, but that he realizes he has acted poorly in his behavior during the tournaments as well.

Did what he wanted to do, left 2010 golf open, I expect to see him at Augusta, made it clear that he won’t tolerate anyone messing with his family. I do think he meant what he said, too bad it took a lifetime to come to the realization that he’s no better than anyone else and the rules do apply to him.

Still got the huge ego working, notice how carefully he worked around what kind of therapy he was doing? Can’t say it out loud.

Well that was certainly a canned and unoriginal script from a team of damage control PR people. What an unconvincing snooze of a speech.

Thanks. Part of the rehab and therapy will be honesty, and saying Erin never hit him is just more lies.

par 3…

Mowc-- part of his rehab and therapy will be learning to be honest with himself and those close to him. It will NOT be learning to be honest with the media. I can promise.

I did not listen to the press conference but saw a quick shot of Tiger’s mom sitting between two women in the front row. Can anyone identify those two women? Elin was not there, correct?

Gotta give him credit for one small thing-- by saying Elin never hit him and that there was no domestic violence, he removed one major obstacle the possibility of using a domesti violence accusation as a defense in any possible custody battle should they divorce.

Greta, the news people are saying that one of the women was his mother in law. Why she would agree to attend is a mystery to me.

^^Just to watch him squirm, perhaps. (and report back to daughter . . .)

…“I see that Tiger’s mom is expected to be by his side during his press conference. I guess Tiger isn’t man enough to take responsibility by himself, but had to drag his unfortunate mother into this since his wife wouldn’t join him…”

A little harsh?! As a mother, you couldn’t keep me away. I would be standing beside my son to support him and wouldn’t have to be “dragged” there.

Wow, at least I didn’t have to keep my promise to vomit if Elin was there. 07Dad, my head is not in the porcelain throne. :)
