I love this line. You can order a sample pack to see which fragrance you like best, but my fave is the Ambre Essence. I wear it sparingly because it’s not cheap (not crazy expensive either) and I always get compliments. I also love that I can smell it all day but it’s not overpowering.
Thanks. I’m going to try it. As much as I want a signature scent, I think my problem is that I just don’t like traditional perfume. This might be just what I am looking for.
I adore the scent. Not perfume-y at all.
As someone who is also kind of sensitive hope this fits your needs!
Smells like honey, it’s a skin scent and I’ve gotten SO money compliments from it
I have the spray and the roller oil versions
Do you have a kid at college? On the Sunday Riley’s site you can redeem a 15% discount through Unidays (a student discount provider).
I haven’t used it at Sunday Riley’s before but I have at various other stores
I would check that out
Thanks @CollegeNerd67 amd @rosechild! Those look like interesting options! I like the idea of small samples to start…
I have trouble with scents also (walking in to Bath and Body Works is terrible). I have used Philosophy Pure Grace for years. It just smells “clean.”
I love philosophy! I want to get the « cream » scent.
A lot of the Jo Malone scents are very light and clean. English Pear and Freesia is a fave. You can layer them to make your own or use a body wash for more of a hint.
I do not have a nose for scents, however my husband does. He picks out my colognes and every-single-one, I get compliments consistently. This winter we were at a bar/restaurant and this young lady walked by us and he said the cologne she was wearing was fantastic. So, I complimented her and asked her what she was wearing.
The new YSL Libre.
So I bought it and am getting compliments.
We are all different, for sure. I like the smell of some of the Jo Malone scents, and I have a candle I can use, but I can’t stand to wear the scents. I asked for and received one of the light scents as a gift, and I only used it once or twice.
45+ years ago, I attended a Mary Kay party. Found a lovely foundation, Day Radiance, in a suitable color. Well, of course time marches on and MK changed it up after a long run. I have been forced to find leftovers on eBay. I also recently bought a fabulous Eliz. Arden foundation, it’s very, very close to the MK. FLAWLESS FINISH SPONGE-ON CREAM MAKEUP. I like it equally well and I’m glad to find it after years of searching for a similar MK product.
I don’t always wear foundation, but I bought some Arbonne foundation to support a friend, and it was a happy surprise for my dry, 60 sometimes skin. I sometimes mix it with moisturizer and often use a bit of miracle balm on top of it, and the overall effect is pretty natural (and significantly more even than my normal skin tone.) I think this approach would work with any liquid moisturizer. (I say that because matching color is the hardest…)
Jones Road is Bobbi Brown. She could not use her name b/c of a marketing agreement. Bobbi Brown is not available at Sephora or Kohl’s (I buy at Nordstrom’s–I buy Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier.). There is a Jones Road store in Montclair NJ believe. Bobbi Brown was the commencement speaker at my university a few years ago and she was quite compelling, speaking of how she built her business for normal women, not models. She championed the clean, no-makeup “makeup” neutral 90s look for professional women. I still like that style.
I seem to recall something about this. I’m thinking she sold off Bobbi Brown? Is she still associated with Bobbi Brown?
Estee Lauder (which owns many cosmetic brands) bought Bobbi Brown’s cosmetic line; I believe she signed a noncompete agreement. The agreement expired and she started Jones Road.
BTW Bobbi Brown is 67. I think she looks great.
This may have been posted already, but supergoop has been having 20% off all weekend. They actually have some things for 50% off (only a few, but by luck an SPF 30 lip gloss thing was one of them).
Related, but separate - I’ve used Burt’s Bees as “chapstick” for years, but it seems to dry my lips out lately, plus since I ride bikes and play pickleball a fair amount, I really want something that’s SPF 30 or more.
Any suggestions that people have used and really liked, that don’t cost a fortune? I’m trying the supergoop, since it was half price for non-flavored sheer product, and I’ve tried Sun Bum and an Aquaphor product, but didn’t care for either.
It’s SPF 25 but I really like (and have used for years) the Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm (I like the mint). It’s not sticky (I don’t use lip glosses for this reason), it stays on for a long time and doesn’t dry my lips. I get it from Amazon but Nordstrom and other stores carry it as well.
lol I bought the supergoop for the same reason yesterday.
I’ve been using the Jack Black lip balm because most products dry my lips.
Haha, @CollegeNerd67 and I posted at the same time
Great minds…
