Is it orange leaning?

I don’t think so.

Like all foundations, there is a broad spectrum of colors in warm, neutral, and cool tones. “Warm” tones have a tendency toward a yellow/orange undertone (which enhance some complexions). Cool tones do not. Neutral is a mix of warm and cool cool tones for those in between.

Here’s a good article that explains undertones and how to select a complementary foundation.

I was asking if it turned to be orange as I have cool undertones and many “cool” foundations are still orange. Ive been looking into the LA girl blue mixing pigment recently in hopes to solve this issue.

How a foundation resolves on one person’s skin may be different on someone else’s. That’s why it’s important to be able to test different brands and was the main reason I gave up on Jones Road as I could find no brick-and-mortar outlet in my state, and I won’t pay for samples.

BTW: Yellow/orange is a must-avoid for me, too.

Yes, but some brands are obnoxious with it. 90% of what Charlotte Tilbury puts out is pure orange. In my head there’s certain brands I avoid all together either due to oxidation (which you can prevent by limiting your natural oils I believe?) or it being straight up yellow/orange. Brands need to do better if they’re going to sell a 50 dollar foundation. Not everyone has an obnoxious spray tan or something.

I’ve definitely had trouble with creasing even with moisturizing first and using an under eye primer. For a little while I was using a matte setting spray, but after @PurplePlum recommended powder I’ve been setting with a very light amount of powder with a brush and that seems to be working pretty well (if I use too much it is drying for me).

I just got the Lancome Teint Idole concealer (that Angie Hot and Flashy always recommends) and I’ll be comparing it to the Tarte shape tape I have. Next step will be to bite the bullet on some fancier fine powder. Maybe Huda, or it seems like a lot of people like the Hourglass powders.

@elena13 I have used Laura Mercier loose powder (both the under eye one and the face powder), Huda loose powder, and It Cosmetics pressed powder. If you can, I’d go to a Sephora to see the powders in person. I want to try a pink tinted pressed powder for under eye to see if it brightens any. I think you are on the right track with using a brush for under eye. I switched to doing that and I like it better than using a puff.

It’s a good foundation and I like the feel. But I need a lighter color that is cooler. I’ll get that.

I think you’re right. I just need to go try some at Sephora. Have you seen the Hourglass Ambient Lighting powders? The subtle colors look very pretty, maybe what you have in mind.

@elena13 OMG I just looked at the Hourglass Ambient Lighting powders and I love the different shades. They look like they have a tiny bit of sheen or shimmer to them. I will try them out next time I am in Sephora. The powders I have used are matte but I am intrigued by these powders because I think I’d like a more shimmery finishing powder to lightly apply here and there after I am done with my setting powder. Thank you for pointing these powders out! I will also check out You Tube to see if there are any videos on how to best use these powders.

I am the same - I didn’t think I had cool undertones but anything remotely orange seems to not look good. There’s the slightest orange hue to the Bayfree multi-glow balm in nude gardenia so I’ll give the pink camellia a try. I could buy 3 and they’d still cost less than one Jones Road Miracle Balm, lol

My second Bayfree highlight balm just went back to Amazon. Incredibly strong orange effect - even though I got what I thought was the pinkest shade…just a heads up for those with cool tones who might have the same reaction…

IT Cosmetics is having a 30%off sale for rewards members (25% for non-members) and 50% off of “supersized” moisturizers (not sure which sizes they consider supersized). The supersized moisturizer offer is only good through tomorrow, I think. Not sure how long the 30% off sale is on for though.

Target is also having a BOGO sale on a lot of their minis. I think they are generally kind of pricey for a small amount, but since they are half off it is a good deal if you’ve been wanting to try something and don’t want to buy a full size. They have quite a few brands. I’ve been meaning to get more Clinique moisture surge and I just decided to get two minis.

Same with Ulta. I picked up 2 Grandebrow lady serums.

IT just put a 40% 2 of it’s CC creams sale. I use the CC+ Nude Glow foundation which is luckily one of the sale items and plan to pick up a couple.

Sticking in a hair question. What product can I use to keep my fine flyaway hair from driving me nuts flying around in my face? Besides spray. Would a gel work?

Something like Sumotech (Bumble and Bumple) might work. You would need very little. (It works at the roots, so it depends on what you’re trying to hold.)

Some people like those hair oils but I find that with fine hair, it makes it flat. But they are great for fly-aways. Again, very little!
