Last time I was at Ulta (months ago) they said Urban Decay was the best selling eye primer. I tried it but was not impressed. The doe foot applicator was pretty messy for me. It was just meh.
Any recommendations for mascara for sensitive eyes? I’m really sensitive to most, don’t use it that often but would love to. Or easy alternatives–a powder that will do the trick?
I have sensitive eyes and have used these two mascaras with no issues:
I follow this person, who is an expert on makeup, focused on clean products. In Whoorl We Trust | Sarah James | Substack
She has previously recommended the above two mascaras, and recently recommended this one (new to me, I haven’t tried it)
I also use Ilia and have never had any irritation issues.
I have very sensitive eyes and have been able to use Clinique high impact mascara
I have not ordered any Jones products cuz like to see things in person. I just looked up the line, and it says it sells in Walmarts. Good to know
I use that too! I rotate 3-4 different mascaras, depending on the day. I’m always trying new ones. IME Clinique has excellent mascaras at reasonable price points.
I was going to say that, but I thought maybe my eyes weren’t as sensitive as others. I also use a Lancôme mascara, but I can’t remember which one and I’m not home to check. I don’t use many Lancôme products bc they have a fair amount of scent in them.
I used two different brands of mascara. I believe both are “clean” products. One is PrimeLash Mascara and the other is Thrive. I like the PrimeLash a little more than Thrive.
My favorite tinted moisturizer by Glo has changed their formula. The reviews arent favorable on the new product. I’m going to take a trip out to Ulta as I have my 20% off coupon. Anyone have something they’ve bought recently that they like. I’d like it to have a light finish and no sparkle plus some spf.
Thanks
I’ve been using Milk Makeup Hydrogrip Gel Skin Tint for a couple of weeks and really like it!
I typically use high coverage, long wear foundations like Lancome or Estee Lauder, but I got addicted to TikTok Over 50 and was influenced to start researching lighter, less cakey options. I was skeptical but I’m really liking the formulation, coverage and light feel. It does leave your skin with a bit of a glow (not glittery or sparkly) but using a light setting powder takes it away - and it stays all day (I also use a primer).
It does not have SPF but I’ve never loved makeup formulations that contain it - I always apply separately.
I find that some SPF will tend to turn orange when in makeup. I do what you do.
I’ll have to try the milk.
My favorite right now is Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer. I also like the Clinique skin tint.
I think the biggest thing is to try and find a good color match. And something that doesn’t oxidize, I have trouble with that.
I was just coming back to say that this one is also on my radar and gets good reviews. They have a mini size, so I might try it and compare to the Milk.
Thanks I’ll look when I go to Ulta today and see if they have any of the suggested products. I’m also going to check at my local skincare shop where I buy the Glo by Jane Iredale products. I have a bronzer I like that looks like they aren’t selling anymore.
When we had a Nordstrom store the Laura Mercier counter had several great associates who were good at finding the right shade.
I’ve been using two that I like recently. One is IT Cosmetics CC+Nude Glow lightweight foundation (no sparkle and does have SPF) and the other is Fenty skin tint (but no SPF).
I like the new Supergoop! Protec(tint) one. And my everyday is the EltaMD one, but while it provides a little color evening it has almost no coverage.
I bought the It cc cream and also the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer. It was a bit overwhelming but helped to have a few products that I knew I wanted to look at.
The LM one is great!
So I’m back after having tried the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer and wanted to share what I thought when comparing it to the Milk HydroGel
The LM is indeed a moisturizer and is a lot denser and heavier than the Milk. I would say that they are different formulations altogether. While the Milk is labeled a “Hydrogel” it is not a moisturizer consistency (although it does hydrate).
The LM was harder to blend and took some time to absorb, while the Milk goes on smoother and sets onto my skin easier. I think the Milk formulation covers better than LM. I have the LM on today and I feel a little washed out and like I need another foundation layer.
Overall, I like the Milk much better and will probably return the LM. YMMV
Have you used other Supergoop sunscreens? If so, how does this compare. I currently use the Glowscreen SPF 40. I’m almost out and need to replace. I might try this new one.
