^^^It’s not just dresses in my case. I tend to not put any of my clothing in the dryer except things like panties, socks, jeans (too stiff if drip dry), and a few other items. I like to drip dry my dresses, skirts, pants, and tops. I have a closet type pole for clothing in my laundry room and so it is easy to do. I just think it keeps them nicer!

This thread piqued my interest earlier in the week, and I started looking at various websites/catalogs for a new top to go with my leggings. Found a top I loved at Sundance, and ordered it. It just came in the mail and I’m thrilled to report it meets my standard for covering my rear, and I love it.

[Julianna Tunic | Robert Redford’s Sundance Catalog](http://www.sundancecatalog.com/product/julianna+tunic.do?sortby=ourPicks)

Teriwtt- I love that tunic. What color did you get?

Thanks mom60 - It was easy, I’m a redhead just like the model (about the ONLY similar physical qualities I share with her), and liked the taupe on her, so I got the taupe.

oooohh! I like that a lot, teriwtt.

Cute top!!

I also only hang dry my clothes. Everything except undies, jeans, jammies and things I don’t give a darn about. They go in the dryer.

I kept the packaging for the Athleta dress since it says it can be returned at any time and for any reason. I will take them up on that if it shrinks.

The Sundance site has some really nice looking tops. I could do some serious damage.

It is very attractive. Does it require much ironing? Rayon makes me nervous because the rayon garments I’ve had tended to wrinkle and I’m not a fan of ironing or steaming.

Teri, that is a very lovely top. I think you will look great in it!

HIMom, I hardly ever use my iron after buying a steamer. It takes just a couple of minutes to get wrinkles out of a dress or a shirt. I even iron Mr B’s dress slacks with the steamer.

Well, it just arrived yesterday afternoon, so it’s quite wrinkled from being in the package. In the past, I used to iron 95% of things that needed getting wrinkles out, despite having a steamer. In recent years, though, since quitting working, I’m not so anal about getting every single wrinkle out of everything, and am determined to move more to steaming, which as BB says, quicker and easier. This top will be my first test! Will let you know after I get around to steaming it later this week. If the steamer does a good job getting these wrinkles out, it should work well for lighter wrinkles coming from just wearing. But again, I’m not as picky anymore, either.

That site is a little out of my price range but I did check out the outlet. There are some nice things there and they have petites.

Thank you to all the fashion mavens! I was lurking on this thread & you inspired me to take a step forward into a fashion I probably would not have tried on my own. I will be traveling to Italy at the end of this month & was looking for an outfit that is comfortable and could be dressed up or down. I pack very light, so having versatile pieces that can be mix-matched & layered is important. Also - thank you for introducing me to some great new shopping sites.

I ordered the Matty M leggings from COSTCO (thank you, chefmom3!) and two of the soft jersey dresses from Soma sale (thank you, MomLive & soozievt!). They arrived yesterday. I am plus size but everything looked great & was very comfortable. I did a trial run at a dinner last night and dressed up a plain black dress with chunky jewelry & scarves, which are easy to pack. There was a good video on the Soft Surroundings website with 5 different ways to tie a scarf: [Womens Clothing Online, Comfortable Work Clothes, Clothing For Women - Soft Surroundings](<a href=“Womens Clothing - Tops, Pants & Dresses | Soft Surroundings”>Womens Clothing - Tops, Pants & Dresses | Soft Surroundings).

I am still looking for stylish shoes. I will be doing a lot of walking, so heels and shoes with thin soles are out. Since I will be in Italy, I may look for a good pair of shoes or boots & some pretty scarves over there, so I don’t want to spend a lot before I go. Does anyone have suggestions for stylish walking flats on a budget?

12rmh, I’d love to see the dresses you ended up ordering!

I still need to get out shopping to put a couple of looks together!

Here you go, abasket:

Soma black Elsie dress http://www.soma.com/store/browse/product.jsp?maxRec=35&pageId=1&productId=570037257&viewAll=true&prd=Elsie+Dress&subCatId=&color=&fromSearch=&inSeam=&posId=22&catId=cat8739276&cat=Dresses&onSale=&colorFamily=&maxPg=1&size=

Soma Tatum henna plum dress: http://www.soma.com/store/browse/product.jsp?maxRec=1&pageId=1&productId=1570089054&viewAll=&prd=Tatum+Dress+Henna+Plum&subCatId=&color=6035&fromSearch=true&inSeam=&posId=1&catId=&cat=&onSale=&colorFamily=&maxPg=1&size=

They are comfortable & hit just above my knee (I am 5ft 4in). Perfect for travel. I’d like to add that the black Matty M leggings are solid & opaque, not as thin as tights, and perfectly complement the dresses. I also picked up a Baggallini Kindred tote (plum) as my carryon bag. I wear it cross body - it has a lot of interior & hidden pockets & a pocket for an iPad. It is better organized than my Longchamp carryon. http://www.ebags.com/product/baggallini/kindred-tote-exclusive/253096?productid=10265994

for inexpensive flats
I like Minnetonka Moccasins
They come in all kinds of colors and wides as well

How do they hold up for you?

I bought Minnetonka Moccasins booties for my daughter and was disappointed how mis-shaped they became in a matter of one month.

I like Easy Spirit walking shoes. They have arch supports and allow me to walk comfortably for long distances and times.

Thanks to this thread, I also ordered the Matty M leggings from the Costco site online (never even knew about that site). They arrived yesterday and I really like them. I got them in black and charcoal. I already own leggings in these colors but mine are more like cotton and lycra and the Costco ones are nylon and lyrca and just a very nice fabric and finish (also wider waist). They are so cheap and remind me of my much more expensive yoga style capri length leggings that are this type of fabric.

I ordered some short dresses from Soma too, but mine have not arrived yet. However, the UPS man just dropped off some other stuff I got from Garnet Hill and Boden. Oh happy day.

H loves SAS shoes and says they’re the most comfortable. My Sis agrees. Just bought a pair of their walking shoes and am happy so far! They have some sandals. My sis-in-law swears by Merrill sandals.

I like Ahnu shoes for walking style and comfort. DSW carries them - probably zappos too.
