Love the video of Taste of Honey! I’m not a music person but love this music! And I’m sure anyone listens will realize they know his music.
I will say I don’t know the solo stuff as well - it’s the brass band stuff I like.
One of the best compliments I ever received was from ds2’s former roommate. He mentioned something on trend and was surprised I knew all about it. I said, “Yeah, I guess I’m pretty hip for a 60yo.” And he said, “You are hip for a 30yo!” lol I love that kid.
And now, proof that knowledge of current music doesn’t mean we can outrun age … yesterday, took dh to a cardiologist to try to determine what is causing his heart palpitations. Ordered a PET scan/stress test STAT. We got that done this morning, and now we are heading out to get him in a heart monitor that he has to wear for two weeks. And next week, I have my second cataract consultation. Time comes for us all.
I forgot that he told us he was the singer of “this guys in love with you” - I had no idea! How good looking was he (still is at 91)! OH MY!!!
My father played Tijuana Brass albums all the time! And we always watched their specials.
And I’m going to have Taste of Honey stuck in my head for the rest of the day now.
I remember driving my daughter somewhere when she was in high school and listening to her talk to her friend who was describing music she recently discovered. It turned out to be “Aqualung” by Jethro Tull!
I still remember when my D22 and her friends “discovered” Joni Mitchell in high school. And The Cure, among others.
Was H able to do the treadmill test? You got the tests ordered yesterday and got to do them today? I had to wait 5 weeks! Which wound up actually being good since I sprained my toe… but not good for my nerves.
Crossing fingers everything will check out well.
No, but we were told that the chemical stress test was the appropriate protocol because of his known branch bundle block. All came back normal. I’m curious what the heart monitor shows, if anything. The only actionable item at this point is the doc told him to walk on days that he doesn’t work, and he hates to exercise. Let’s see whether he follows doctor’s orders as he doesn’t like when I’ve said the same thing. ![]()
I hope it goes well. I had trouble with it staying on, since i sweat so much. Large bandaids were my friends. I’m guessing your H won’t have that issue! And it gave me the worst rash. Took over a week to clear up afterwards. Ugh
I’d like to talk to my doc about what mine said. Chatgpt said it wasn’t anything alarming and the doctor’s office never called about it. They just said they’ll see me in 6 months. Maybe I’ll have a long list of questions by then.
Paper tape, the kind they use in the hospital, is your friend. Or cheapo ace bandages. Or even “magic” clear tape.
We have a follow-up in a month.
The rash didn’t come from the bandaids though. It came from the monitor’s pad. And the ER gave me some of that tape to put on it. It fell off. I workout and sweat a lot
Cher is 80 years old today!
You cannot outrun age if you do not even try.
