I refer to pictures as photos, not selfies.
Husband got his first SS payment today!
I went to the dermatologist and had some pre-cancerous AND keratosis spots removed.
Selfies would be a subset of pictures or photos, since you can have a picture or photo that is not a selfie.
Is it a reminder of being old to have photos that are not selfies?
A friend is planning our 50th HS reunion for next year - 50 years - I am old!
Exactly what I was coming here to say. Just got home from a Squeeze concert and was very aware I was in a room full of old people. Luckily Squeeze was great because Adam Ant was the opener and he definitely did not age well.
@kiddie you are younger than me! My 50th was 2 years ago!
My 60th was this year!
My firstborn turned 40 today!
I have to return a call today. Yesterday, while I was out and about, apparently I received a message from my husband‘s employer-sponsored health team.
It seems that I am too old and feeble to figure out (on my own) how to manage my healthcare through my physician and my team of specialists, such that I need my husband‘s employer to manage it for me. Gee. I. feel. so. SPECIAL.
My old feebleness has apparently fogged my memory in neglecting to return their calls. Put me in a home already!!
Can we say HIPAA?
Edited to add: I haven’t changed my primary care doctor in 15 years and, during that time, I paid for my own insurance through my employer. After I retired, I went on his insurance, which was better than Medicare coverage, a year ago.
My husband will be retiring soon, or I can private pay. These people have been bugging me so that their health team can help me find less expensive medications and procedures. If I agree to let their team review my health plan/medications, they can do some cost saving measures and I can go on the crappy, but cheap, meds that gave me adverse side effects. Plus, I can avoid having my bone-on-bone knee replaced by some alternative method.
BS!!!
I got a message that my internist wants me to consider some type of managed care or something when I’m quite satisfied with how my care is currently. I will discuss it further with her when I see her for my 6-month visit but honestly I see a LOT fewer healthcare providers than H—if anything, HE needs some help keeping track of his myriad of providers. I have my internist, 2 lung docs, a physiatrist, cardiologist and PT. I do talk to lung transplant team, just in case I’m suddenly much worse.
I told a friend of mine that if I knew Medicare (with a secondary plan) was this great, I would of turned 65 sooner.
Today’s connections!
I am not the only one who has to google definitions of some of those!
I had to ask my daughter for an explanation on how two of those words are actually used!
307 days to go for me!!! I will finally have real coverage after many years with basically nothing.
Went from spending like $1400/me to like $400 with secondary and drug plan.
I went in the other direction - from $130/month on my retiree medical plan to $400 for Medicare. Oh, well, it does cover Zepbound for only $50 and my membership at the Y.
My aarp uhc covers the Y. I take yoga and sculpting pilates twice a week. Wish they would just call it an dumbbell weight class and abs. I would of taken it sooner… Lol. We were self insured.
I’m so old that I remember using the acronym HOMES for the Great Lakes.
