Just an alert. New season starts (or started depending on time zone) tonight. Apparently they’re not leaving the state - I guess Aspen is a MAJOR sponsor!
I watched the first episode and I know I’m going to love it. There seems to be a good group of chefs with lots of expertise and lots of personality.
It seems to be an interesting group, where some take risks that work. Like some of the much earlier seasons, I find myself having early favorites.
So interesting how watching people cook is so fascinating.
Missed it last night, didn’t know new season was starting but I will catch up quickly!
I agree with @lookingforward-like this cast and have some favorites. I am also enjoying the setting as I don’t know much about Denver. It looks like they have a fun food scene there, and the setting of the elimination challenge looked like a place to explore in the future.
It was pleasant to have talented chefs cooking personalized dishes - no gimmicks! As they were running through the Whole Foods aisles, I wondered if we’re going to start seeing Amazon device ads.
No argument with the person eliminated. She needs more seasoning.
Just watched the first two episodes of Last Chance Kitchen. Twist this year - they started with four veterans from prior seasons who initially competed with each other - one was eliminated and the other three continued to face the first cheftestant kicked off the main show. Sort of a mean set up for the first several chefs eliminated from the main show since they are relatively inexperienced in this form of competition. A lot of contestants have discussed how important it is to understand the way Top Chef works and how to play the game.
Good first episode.
However, if you are a chef shouldn’t you be able to pronounce bruschetta correctly especially if you are going to make it in your first challenge?
John Besh has been edited out of an upcoming episode. Not sure which one.

Not too surprised at the eliminated chef tonight. He pressure is just intense.
I wasn’t able to start watching this in December but starting watching this weekend and am on episode 4? Or 5? I always get sucked into Top Chef! I have a few favorites - including a couple women who seem to NOT be so full of themselves as some of the chefs both male and female often seen to be! Not caught up yet but will continue watching!
Enjoyed the episode where they had to cook with kids kitchen items - fun challenge! And the kids, so honest.
For some reason I like Bruce. He has a burly beard and he and his wife are adopting a baby.
Speaking of “full of themselves,” I saw Tiffani Faison (first season runner-up, the rehead,) outside the Food Network office in NYC and shes “take a second look” pretty. I’ve read that she’s mellowed.
My fav this season is Tanya.
I’ve liked Fatima during this season. I’m sorry she is going thru this pain. Nice that Padma stands by her–class act
I watched last night’s Olympics challenge, sort of interesting although I missed the beginning of the episode. Last one I saw was the camping episode. Was that last week or was there one in-between that I forgot about?
@bookmama22, I’m pretty sure there was one in between, a German-food-and-beer themed challenge.
The story about Fatima is scary. My nephew had a tumor in his shoulder that initially was misdiagnosed as Ewing’s sarcoma. Ewing’s sarcoma has a high mortality rate. My nephew’s tumor, fortunately, was benign.
I was not happy about the loser of this week’s show.
Just caught up. I agree I thought the blue lipped lady should have gone. Neither did well but the blue lipped lady (I’m sorry I can’t remember her name!) is super annoying! They both were a little annoying this week. I do really like Chris the third in their trio.
I thought the Olympics was a really fun challenge - looked like it was fun for them too! Except for the white team!
