Top chef kentucky

Anyone else watching? Tonight was a good show.

I’m watching but won’t watch tonight’s show till this weekend. I’ll report back later! Love Top Chef.

I’m watching. Haven’t seen tonight’s episode yet.

I’m watching and just watched tonight’s episode. It sure beat the old Top Chef episode (forget which season) where they had to put together a dish using the ingredients from a tourist ferry snack bar. They sure edited this episode to look like the winning team was all about the party but the Judges Table confirmed it really was about the food.

I’m watching for the first time ever. One of the contestants is from my area and I’ve known her mother for years. I love how they are highlighting some of the best attractions in Kentucky, but I’m really looking forward to see how the trip to Nashville next week works out. Last night’s episode was a good one!

I thought the winner won, not just because of her food, but her team leadership, energy, and fun. It was a “sweet”:ending.

I love Top Chef, I didn’t get t watch the last show but will watch sometime this weekend. I always love seeing different spots around the country - watching the Colorado one made me put Telluride on my list of places to go!

Top Chef alum Fatima has died: https://ny.eater.com/2019/1/25/18197664/fatima-ali-top-chef-nyc-dies

Sad. She had an exuberant personality.

Fatima was someone I automatically loved. I was so sorry to hear about her cancer diagnosis and so, so sad to hear she died. :frowning:

The two teams were night and day in terms of their exuberance and just sort of introvert boat vs extrovert boat. I have to say that the blue team losing their power for such a long period of time during prep time and the illness of Adrienne was a lot to overcome if not in food, in energy.

The guy that went has screwed up more than once so I think it wasn’t a surprise.

Very sad to hear about Fatima, so young.

I’m enjoying Top Chef Kentucky.

I watch every season of Top Chef and since I love horses, bourbon and my S attended UKY, I’m really enjoying this season! I’m always amazed how the contestants conceive and execute their dishes with such limited time.

Sorry about Fatima … I remember her fondly.

So very sad to read about Chef Fati’s struggle and untimely death at age 29. She was such a bright light on the show.

I agreed with the judges again last night. I would have liked to have seen more of the Grand Opry

As a Kentuckian who spends lots of time in Nashville, I really enjoyed last night’s episode. I do agree with @bookworm that it would have been nice to see more of the Grand Ole Opry and Nashville. I know they are guarding the results when they film so they don’t get out early, but it would have been fun to have a little more Nashville flavor.

While I would really liked to have tasted Justin’s little open face hamburger, I was incensed at how the white team threw Sarah under the bus. If her waffle didn’t taste as good, the judges would figure that out on their own. Harassing her in Rupp Arena was just mean, IMO, but I am biased.

Once again, a good show tonight

Using a box mix is just not acceptable on Top Chef. I use them for pancakes or waffles, but the product needs to be crisp. The judges said her chicken was better than her opponents, but the waffles were soggy. That could have happened with or without the box.

Yeah, I thought the White Team’s banter about Sarah’s waffle mix got a little out of hand. But I didn’t get the impression they intended to mean, just got caught up in the atmosphere.

No excuse to use the box mix, but wow - a Kentucky native getting heckled in the Rupp arena - that’s a cruel punishment!

JUst saying: Anyone on Top Chef should know how judges react to box short cuts.
