<p>Does anybody know if we’re allowed to use the scholarship for books/educational purposes (other than tuition) ?</p>
<p>Come on, can’t any winners tell us what their projects were on?</p>
<p>My project that I started has been a book drive that I have done in my county for 4 years. I have collected new/gently used books and distributed them through Christmas for Kids and the Salvation Army. I am proud to say I have raised over 12,000 books for kids that don’t have reading materials at home. This project started with my town of 16,000 then expanded to almost every town in my county over the 4 year period. I have written letters to the newspaper, spoken at numerous schools, radio stations, and service organizations and even volunteered as vocal/piano entertainment in exchange for books at the organizations. You have to use what talents that you have, and this worked very successfully for me by being asked back year after year.
I hope this helped give some of you an idea of the project I did. A little more to it than what is written, but I think the fact that I did this project 4 consecutive years and expanded it each year is what has helped me win the scholarship.
