From what it looks like, notification of non-winners is part of the scholarship administration “package” that Toyota would have purchased. I’ve learned, though, that you can be told two completely different things by two different people at SRP. So who knows…

didnt get anything today, so i think i will safely assume i am not a winner. CONGRATS to all who did get it! you truly must be incredible people!

as easy as it is to bash toyota for the delays and what have you, they’re giving away at least a million dollars to help kids go to college. that’s something in and of itself which deserves applause.

I have never seen anything so disorganized. Everyone you contact gives conflicting information and no one has been consistent with what they are telling you. I wonder if any of the other scholarships was like this?

I agree with drewm517 that Toyota deserves to be applauded for giving so much away in scholarships but I still feel that they could be a little bit more considerate of all the kids who are waiting to hear something. Some kids may have been waiting to hear a response from them to know what schools they were accepted to that they could confirm their admissions. Its like dangling something in front of someone’s face and just toying with them in their efforts to grab it. Everyone who was even selected as a semifinalists and then a finalist had to be more than deserving or they would have not made it that far. It just speaks so much better of Toyota if they would have handled this the way that they said they would. Congratulations to all who have been notified. For those of you who have not, maybe all the ups letters did not go out today and some are still coming. Keep the hope.

Thanks to everyone for posting! We have been watching to see how everybody has done across the country and anticipating the Toyota scholarship notices. I am proud to say I got one here in Washington today. Good Luck to all of you with college. This helps a lot.

Sweet! Congrats to all who have gotten it! Im just scard because I gave them a P.O. Box for my address and UPS does not send to them. I didnt give a physical address, because I live in the desert and dont receive mail at my residence! This makes me too nervous, I guess I will call tomorrow!

you would think freaking toyota would send out some notification letters at the least; after all their disorganization with the scholarship and the confusion, the least non-winners could receive is a little postcard saying no.

Congret to those received the letter already.
The rest hang in there & don’t give your hope up yet…Do you think it is possible for Toyota (or is it ETS?) to send 1000 plus notification letters out all in one day?
Good luck!

Well, if it’s true that they are not notifying the non-winners, then they would only have to mail 100 letters, not 1000. And even if they were sending notification to everybody, I think they would send it to the winners first. :(

I called today and the rep said that they would only be notifying the winners, but they are not mailing them all out at one time, kind of in groups. So she said that if you do not hear by next week friday, then unfortunately it is probable that you did not get it. Congrats to everyone that has recieved it so far- you definitely deserved it!! And to those of us who are waiting- hang tight! There is still hope, seing as they have not mailed all the winning notification. Good Luck to the rest of you!!

Well, this makes me feel a bit better! I’m gonna keep my fingers crossed. Congrats to everyone who has already received notification!
I know that ETS has said that they no longer have the official names of the winners, but is there a way to confirm whether or not you got the scholarship? I’m talking, say, next Friday, if you haven’t received any notification and would still like to check.

I would think that you would be able to call and see. Right now, for some reason, they are not telling us over the phone whether or not we have won it or not, eventhough there are people being notified across the nation. So i don’t know what the big deal is in telling us over the phone, but i would think by next week you should be able to do that. Try calling today or tommorow and just demand that they tell you…lol :)

So, I called again. Guess what? This time, the rep said she is absolutely certain that they have not mailed any notifications yet. Ha! She said they will mail them “all at once, some time at the end of this week.” I swear, this is the most unorganized process. It’s ridiculous.

This is quite an emotional roller coaster for us; like many, we are in a financial situation due to this economy downturn & we are praying for this scholarship to come thru’ for our family… but it appears to me that every time someone called ETS, they gave a different version on when & how these notifications w/b sent…
I am sure ETS is not doing this for free as a public service, but how can a huge organization be so unorganized? I hope someone at Toyota is aware of how poor it has been handled & do something to improve it for next year.
Well, I hope both vrubley1991 & Ihearthemusic29 are correct with your info. Thanks.

I decide to call ETS after my last post… Interestingly, message has been changed, I was given the only option to leave my phone number. However, message did not mention someone will call back or anything.
