Maybe they can bring in the members of the Brady Bunch who rehabbed their old house and they can date some of the Bachelors/bachelorette as the redo the mansion? Or the Property Brothers? Or some of the DIYers from some of the other reality TV programs?
The franchise definitely has jumped the shark. I have no interest in watching the Mormon woman next season. I mean, I assume she’s already a reality star; why are we trying to help HER find “love”? The franchise has forgotten why we first liked it.
Like I said, this week was my first week watching the actual episode. I can’t believe how quickly they’ve moved. Fewer episodes and only an hour long? Geez, buy them dinner first. And, sorry, ladies … no traveling for you.
But I think they did a not-great job of casting this time. Nicole said the quiet part out loud – Is anyone in it for the right reasons? In the Golden franchise, part of what made it so great is that we fell in love and were rooting for the personalities. The lonely men who were finding friendship in each other, for instance. Now, the GB franchise is just older, surgically altered versions of the younger contestants. Disappointing.
I remember watching some of the first season. It was on at 7 pm at my house, so a lot more PG than it is now. My kids went to bed at 8 (I think they were 3 and 4) and I remember them getting ready, taking a bath, and then we’d watch the last 10 minutes and my kids would vote for who they wanted to get roses based on the dresses.
Honestly, I think that method was probably as good as the current one of judging whether they are there ‘for the right reason.’
Is that before or after competing on Dancing With the Stars?
