Tuition Exchange for Fall 2024 (Class of 2028)

No emails from DePaul or Temple? My D got emails from both. Both wait-list.

You might want to contact the Temple te contact. She is very nice and responsive as well.

Thanks. No emails. I reached out to the Temple TE rep last night but no word so far.

For Temple, I’m thinking that if you are not awarded or on the wait list, there is no email at this time! My daughter hasn’t heard anything either.

Interesting on Temple. You would think they would let people know if they didn’t get it.

@Sfa2024 I would think she gets back to you pretty soon. I had emailed yesterday morning and heard back last evening (on a Sunday even).

Son applied for TE at 7 schools.

Admitted/received TE at Pitt and Richmond
Admitted/no word on TE: Temple, St. Joes
No admission or TE decision yet: Syracuse, Boston U, GWU

I feel like Syracuse is unlikely because he showed zero demonstrated interest. Boston- his stats give him a very good shot at admission, but I think they only give 10 TE scholarships. GWU is the one he wants.

1 TE awarded (accepted 1st choice)
1 TE waiting (waitlist)

Our home institution told us we could only apply to three schools for TE. We applied to four because we’re rebels like that. We’ve heard back from three (Tulane/pitt yes, Baylor no) and we’re waiting on Drake.

Dropping the link to the spreadsheet here so it is easier to find. If you haven’t already, please fill out your students TE results.

I emailed the coordinator today. They’re hoping to release TE decisions this week.

has anyone heard from USC?

We haven’t heard from the one admission in hand (Lesley) except for an email on how they award, which makes it seem like it’s unlikely for my average kid.
No admission decision yet from Wheaton (which is her first choice) so no waiver decision, obviously, and she was waitlisted EA from Endicott, so I assume out of the running there.
She had Roger Williams on her list when we filled out the authorization whatever it is (I am a CIC only school, so the TE portal isn’t part of our experience) and they had the most informative communication but she ended up not applying at all, so I have no idea how the process would have gone, but I appreciated the clear email.
The CIC process is much more opaque than TE based on my reading along here - I had to get certified at my employer, send our liaison the list, and then nothing happens until something happens, I guess!
ETA: If she is accepted at Wheaton, I will reach out to the liaison to let them know it’s her first choice, etc etc. But not planning to do any of that in advance of an admissions decision.

my daughter applied for BU TE in 2022 and they never even informed her of acceptance, waitlist , or deny. were very rude when we emailed (didn’t have the app then either). it was not a good experience. D24 did not apply to BU.

@snappity207 I’d love to hear more about your experiences with CIC. I haven’t been able to find much on here. My kids are younger, but I’m trying to learn now so I can better gauge how to approach our college savings vs tuition exchange options. Our home school currently offers both TE and CIC.

I would also love to hear more about your experience with CIC. My school does both CIC and TE, but for various reasons CIC is accessible to more employees than TE (different vesting periods, etc.) and there is very little discussion of CIC here on the forums. And my son is also interested in Wheaton.

Same. I think CIC could be a big deal for D25 or S27. D24 tried four TE, zero CIC. Home institution does both.

I appreciate it as well. Our HR department is not responsive at all so we are clueless and I have one going up next year.

I bet is more that the departments/personnel are disconnected as opposed to purposely awarding to students who aren’t interested…

@sfa2024 maybe just add a comment to the spreadsheet cell that your daughter received equivalent merit (I don’t have good access to the spreadsheet right now but it is probably a right-click while in cell then select add comment).
Or, @hb2024trackmom is it easy to add another drop-down option like ā€œMerit equivalent receivedā€?

@Ta-Town_Girl what schools do you need added to the spreadsheet? @hb2024trackmom

This might be a good drop down. I know at one school we were denied TE but they said the merit was more than TE.

Wow, CIC sounds tougher to work with than TE. I hope you all can get some answers.
