Tuition Exchange for Fall 2025 (Class of 2029)

In my experience every location likes to hit send right before they leave the office on Fridays

No, we are still waiting as well. From our past experiences, TE awards are usually sent out earlier in the day which is making me think they won’t be out today.

Duquesne is my D25’s top choice and she is patiently waiting to hear a response.

Good luck everyone! I know this process is long and stressful for us all!

Hello All, my 2025 son is applying to mostly West Coast/ Pacific NW schools- has anyone heard from any of those? TIA

Duquesne is in the tuition exchange portal, my daughter’s portal shows import approved!

(Her St Joes, while receiving a letter, does not show import approved yet)

Wow this is a tough choice now… Her brother’s at Pitt, I would love them in the same city - we have toured Duquesne and she liked it a lot. She doesn’t love Pittsburgh as much though.

Wow! Congratulations. D25’s TE portal remains “Import Decision Pending” but doesn’t show a denial. Have you received an email or any additional information?

No, nothing.

Each school is so different in how they do things with TE. I agree with you though! One thing to consider, however, is in that first year if you attend a school that offered a lot of merit aid, at least you are only paying for a fraction of 1 year. There is one school my son likes that offered a lot of merit aid, and so that first year isn’t so bad. In fact, since room and board varies a lot - it may still be cheaper than some other schools with TE for the whole 4 years (we shall see). The big risk is that if you commit in hopes of getting it in year 2, there are no guarantees that you’ll get it and it’s hard to move forward with that uncertainty.

Elisette,

If your daughter receives an email (or any more info) awarding her with Duq TE can you let us know? We haven’t heard anything from them and our portal remains “import decision pending.”

We are aware of one other whose portal shows import approved but haven’t received any further info. I’m hoping they send acceptance/denial emails today.

We are assuming my D25 wasn’t awarded since her portal doesn’t say “import approved” but we are waiting for an email to confirm that.

Will update if/when she gets something. I would like to see the updated financial paperwork, hopefully. Duquesne charges $3850 per year for TE students.

My daughter is not at all sure what to do with her three options right now - DePaul, Duquesne and SJU. I am trying to guide her through this a bit faster because I know there are others who will be waiting to receive the TE offer after her.

I’m encouraging her to pull her Marquette app bc I don’t think that is higher than Duquesne or SJU.

Same on our end

That must be new advice. I have been through this twice and was advised to cast a wide net.

Officially withdrew Marquette app, one less TE competitor there!

Still no official word from DuQuesne. Still a very confused teenager on where to go.

Congrats on all of the TE wins!
Does anyone know when BU tends to make their TE decisions? I know it’s a real long shot, but was wondering.
My DD was offered TE at Pitt and she is thrilled!

Really disappointed in Duquesne, they indicate by February 1 on their website, I called and the said by the end of the week last week, and still no word. I have a dependent that was offered set rate at another school but top choice is Duquesne.

She sent an email to St Joe’s saying she was still very interested and we are attending Admitted Students day in March and they said, great, we’ll keep you on the list.

Congrats on Pitt! My son is there on TE and it has been seamless.

I emailed Duquesne and they said offers were made last Thursday. Those approved for TE were notified in their portals on Friday. I believe they plan on sending out official letters/emails very soon. Unfortunately we’re told that my daughter wasn’t awarded with TE.

Lots of tears in my house but I know everything will work out in the end. As of right now, my daughter is settling on a non TE school.

Same. No tears. But likely choosing a non TE school.

We didn’t receive an official email from Duquesne, but based on what @Elisette and @findquest reported, we didn’t get TE at Duquesne either. Wonder what went wrong.

We did miss a couple things: I see now that the official SAT scores had to be submitted, which we forgot (only self-reported it via common app) and D25 missed the email about a full tuition scholarship opportunity - so that might have been seen as lack of interest. On the other hand, we went to the school specific admitted student day at the end of Jan. So who knows?

We sent a similar reply to St. Joe’s accepting the TE and plan to attend the Admitted Student Day in March.
