Updated with her info (again as I think it got deleted). FACHEX was not a drop down menu item but not sure it matters to most (Jesuit schools).
Released some TE offered she wont go to. Took some off the list totally that she decided she would not attend even if she got TE. Still awaiting 2 TE potential stay on the list school decisions.

Did anyone has/had any experience with Tulane?
My son transferred this Spring and already there. We submitted the TE in Oct 2024 once he was accepted.
What his chances of getting it? He will have to leave it if he doesn’t get it. The ticket price is huge! Thanks

Good morning. I see that you indicated “waitlisted” for DePaul. Is that your home school? We have not received any decision yet for DePaul so I was just wondering. Thanks!

creighton, not depaul

Ohh thank you. Same boat here for Creighton.

Waitlisted at Rose Hulman. It’s another “set rate” school with tuition almost 57K and room/board average to high. (Especially considering that it is in Terra Haute Indiana!)

Has anyone had the TE website wrong for the school their kid applied to?

On the website the school states it will not reduce the scholarship by PELL but on the FA packet it is reduced by PELL.

Has anyone heard anything from Saint Louis University?

No. My husband took my son there for a visit yesterday and I was hoping to know in advance but no such luck. They had told me mid to late February, so hopefully any time now!

I wonder if we’ll hear either way? So far our experience (from my son’s list and reading lots of other posts) is many schools send positive award emails/notifications out right away, but may not say anything until asked if you are wait-listed. It would be nice if they all would tell you something either way. Hopefully SLU will send something whether it’s a yes, no, or maybe.

Yes, here’s hoping for good news for both of us!!

I would reach out to the school and show them where it says that the school will not reducing the scholarship by a Pell and then ask them why it was reduced in your case.

Yes, fingers crossed for both of us! Although, I’m learning not to get my hopes up at all with this as he is being wait listed everywhere so far.

We met with the TE liaison last August and she seemed to indicate they only award maybe 5 or 6 or something and had over a hundred applicants the year prior! We were bummed when we learned that. It’s weird because when searching I found a FAQ document (from 2021) from SLU that stated they award around 30 and usually have 60 or 70 applicants (and reserve the right to change that from year to year, of course). Things have apparently changed from 2021!?

Yes! I remember when I was on a DePaul tour maybe 18 mos ago or so, and I talked to a professor who indicated that his own son was not the greatest student, and he said that his son got TE at SLU. So I was surprised when my son #1 got waitlisted there. Ugh.
On a happy note, son #1 (who did not get TE at his first two choices) did get it at choice #3 (St. Norbert) and is a very happy Freshman there. They only give 3 spots/year. He initially got waitlisted but then got in.

Did your kid apply EA or RD to the place they were waitlisted? Two of the colleges my D25 applied EA offered her TE in the FA package, but nothing in the portal indicates that. One hasn’t mentioned it at all and the portal says pending. In fact, every college in the portal still says pending whether she has received a decision or is still waiting for RD. I wonder if they wait until RD when they start to hear back from people before making any final decisions. If the college doesn’t have a super high yield rate, hopefully your kid still has a chance at TE.

He applied EA everywhere. So far he has several TE offers but the portal is not up to date at all.

It seems like the colleges are really inconsistent in how they do it.

Oh I see, this is round 2 with SLU huh? That’s great that son #1 got it at #3 and is very happy - that’s great to hear. Good for him!

We applied EA everywhere. I have found the portal status to be near useless so far. One thing with the yield rate and wait-list - it would help significantly to know where on the waitlist he is. If he’s #4 that tells us there’s a chance… if he’s 40, we can simply move on and not hold on to false hope. However, none of them so far will tell us where on the waitlist he is - they just ignore the question entirely and are very intentionally vague in their answer.
