my son is waiting for EA. two (maybe three? ) others from his school also applied EA (and his grades/etc are much stronger) and they have heard back (all accepted) – so i am getting concerned that Tulane isn’t taking his application seriously (i mean he isn’t einstein-- and several folks here have better stats-but he is solid)…

Few questions:

  1. Has anyone else not gotten their Gibson portal email or login information? Got accepted a little over a week ago but still have yet to get a Gibson email and when I click forgot password on the website it says it doesn’t recognize my email. I’m a little worried because my parents got a notification saying something about Tulane needing additional documents for financial aid such as tax forms and W-2 forms which leads me to my next question…

  2. Does Tulane just need the FAFSA and CSS profile (and I think we did the IDOC too) to be filled out or are there additional items?

  3. How have people submitted their scholarship applications for the Paul Tulane Award and the Deans Honor Scholarship? I keep on getting redirected to the application status portal but I don’t see a place to submit. And can I still apply even though they’ve already given me a decision with some merit aid?

@wralston579 I can try to answer question #3. Yes, you can still apply for both the DHS and PTA even if you already received merit aid. Your chances of receiving one of the scholarships is actually a bit higher, I think, if you have gotten the aid (just because it shows you are an academically competitive student). You have to add the DHS and PTA applications to your application status portal. I believe there is a list or something on the right panel? You have to add them each as separate applications, and then submit them separately. Hope this helps!

Waiting on ED. I had interview and had like 3 people that work for Tulane that wrote revs for me. Still haven’t heard anything and I am stating to get nervous

EA applied 10/31 with strong stats (1570 sat, 35 act, 4.0 uw gpa) and solid ec. I also wrote a lengthy why tulane response. Hoping I hear back tonight

@mushu123 do you know if both scholarships require recommendations? It looked like the Deans Honor Scholarship award may have wanted a recommendation but I didn’t see anything extra besides the prompt responses for the Paul Tulane Award. Would be nice if all I had to do was write the responses to the prompts…
