Why so snarky? Seems really unnecessary! Life is too short, relax!!!
Rejected with Guaranteed Transfer
This seems worse than a waitlist because it seems that I don’t have the chance to receive admissions for this fall.
4.34 weighted
1390 SAT
Varsity xc track and key club VP junior and senior year
Great why Tulane statement and visited campus
I didn’t expect to get in, but I’m still disappointed, especially since schools ranked higher accepted me. I’ll be attending UW-Madison or Wake Forest most likely.
Waitlisted after deferred EA
I showed no demonstrated interest so I was expecting it
I will not be accepting the waitlist spot but good luck to everyone else

I had really amazing teachers write my Recs, Didn’t write a Why Tulane essay but from the people who reviewed it, my Common App essay was really good.
Genuinely thought I was going to be rejected from this school and now I really want to make it off the waitlist!!

I turned my application in 10 min before the deadline, which probably didn’t help. This was probably my best essay I wrote for any college so a little bit of a bummer. If I was accepted it would have made my college decision harder so now I can officially commit to UW.
Congrats everyone who was accepted!
@TxtoFl from what the admission counselor told me at my visit and based on many articles and podcasts, Tulane wants to keep their acceptance rate low. They accept people they know will go to school there. They defer and waitlist top students in fear they will attend a more prestigious school. the counselor said if you get wait listed to email your admissions counselor that you are fully committed to Tulane. University of Michigan is known for doing the same thing.
waitlisted engineering.

1490 SAT, UW GPA 4.0, ranked 1st in class, 11 APs, tons of leadership and EC’s
got into USC, W&M, UF, UMiami, among others, not sure why Tulane didn’t want her except that they don’t think she will attend, but Tulane was never considered a safety school for her, she really wanted to go.
didn’t visit NOLA because it’s so far away, but did go to a Tulane Comes to You talk.
Seems a lot of people were waitlisted, does anyone know how many Tulane typically takes off the watlist?
I would say this for those who were deferred / Guaranteed Transfer spring 2021, that might not be a bad thing this year especially if campus does not open in the fall.

SAT 1500 (M800), M790 , GPA UW 3.78, GPA W4.3 Varsity x 4 years,
Tough decisions ahead.
D Waitlisted after EA deferral.
1470 SAT/ 4.3 GPA W
Anticipated IB diploma
sports, singer, lots of volunteer hours, DECA
Daughter also waitlisted with nearly identical stats. (1460 SAT, 4.0 UW GPA, ~ 4.4 Weighted) This is looking like Tulane put heavy heavy emphasis on Local Louisiana students, (& its very small) because I’m seeing IVY caliber kids (1500+ SAT) on this board being waitlisted. I guess waitlisted means rejected, but it sounds nicer.
