Wow, that’s crazy. Hopefully it’s cause lot of ivy league types applied that will drop out once they accept other offers.

36ACT should have been admitted automatically, in my humble opinion…

D deferred as well. Did anyone click on the continued interest form? Confused by the wording. Asks whether still interested in spring admit. See below:

We understand that the college process is constantly changing and would greatly appreciate it if you would keep us informed of your plans. If your interest in being admitted as a [Spring Scholar] has changed, you may update us below. If you would like to change your application from Early Action to Early Decision II, please do so by submitting the request form in your portal and submitting a completed Early Decision Agreement Form by the January 15 application deadline.

Yes, I would still like to be considered for admission to Tulane University.

No, I am no longer interested in admission and would like to withdraw my application.

Does anyone else have this? We never indicated D would be interested in anything other than fall start on application. Not sure if entire application will be withdrawn if say no. Any thoughts?

This is typical Tulane who provide spring semester option to maximize the enrollment. Basically you gap “half-year”. My daughter (Tulane senior now) could have completed her degree in 7 semester, but she chose to the full 8 semesters because scholarships cover all 8. In another words, your daughter can still complete her degree in 3.5 years if needed.

We have the same thing. So are we supposed to say yes or just ignore that section?

Daughter admitted EA with $40k scholarship ($10k per year) as a “First Year Honors Scholar”. The letter also says she is offered admission to any of the undergraduate schools. Does that mean she has to pick one to be admitted into with her acceptance of the offer?

With a price tag of $88k I am not sure the $10k will be enough to sway us. Wondering what she will get from other schools…

I have no idea! Wonder if everyone deferred has this wording.

Congrats! All Tulane students are accepted into the school as a whole, you don’t have to declare your major or college until sophomore year. Students are free to major/minor in any college, it’s one of the big benefits of Tulane.

My son was accepted- unless we are missing something no offer of merit. 3.84 UW, 9 AP’s, 2 sport varsity athlete, club founder, finance internship, college finance program at UCI. We are super excited.

Some colleges try to secure their yield rate, so they defer EA applicants and wish them to become ED II.

File FAFSA/CSS and she will get some financial aid on the top of 10K.

Yep

Yes, it is very flexible to register course here.

My daughter was accepted EA. She’s not a bubbly kid and is SO happy. This was the last campus visit during our rounding of schools and once visited, it was her top choice. Of course it’s the furthest from home! We were both impressed with the admission staff, from the get. Quite candid and transparent and approachable with questions.
Stats: 4.0 UW and not sure on W:, perhaps 4.5? Did NOT submit test scores. PT job, volunteer hours weren’t astronomical. (She likes to have a balance of rigor and downtime). One spring sport. At time of application, 4 AP classes. 3 senior year. She is an EMT as well. At time of application, she was in class (night classes at local CC). Just passed the National EMT exam a few days ago. Pre-med track in emergency medicine.
Accepted into Honors program and awarded 25k year (merit).

She did volunteer every summer for 40 hours to help teach at a STEM camp. Wasn’t minimizing the importance of volunteer work.

Son was accepted. 40 k merit (10k per year) plus entrance to their first year scholars program. 4.0 UW/ 5.7 W. We’re very excited for him. He is so happy.

Son accepted Fall term, EA 3.45 UW, 35 ACT, jobs, varsity sports all 4 years. No merit. Does anyone know if it’s possible to obtain merit with other merit offers in hand?. The high cost was what kept us from applying ED, he loved the school after visiting.
