TOUCH - We watched the 2-part “Touch” finale (all that was available on our Comcast On Demand). It was pretty confusing at first, be we did like it.

In some ways it reminds us of Heros (but without the variety of superpowers), a show we liked especially in Season 1 before it got so crazy.

We are still struggling with need to reset the Comcast box to get at On Demand. Some nights it works like a charm. Most of the time we have to do the whole unplug/reboot cycle. Suggestions?

Ugh. We have had four service calls from technicians trying to figure out why our On Demand never seems to work when we decide to watch something. I bet you get that dreaded Error 7! They have switched out our cable box…twice. It’s so frustrating. Since you’re having repeated problems it might be worth seeing whether a service call, and maybe replacing the cable box, will fix it. Service calls are free (at least with our contract). I hope your luck is better than ours!

Thanks for the feedback zip. We did have a service call scheduled but cancelled it because hard to be home… and that week it seemed to be behaving. I feel like it’s hard for a servicer to find intermittent problems so haven’t bitten the bullet. Yikes - 4 times sounds dreadful.

Son has Psych set on TiVo while he’s away working, and I’m burning DVDs of the marathons that run on Saturday night on ION. I’m looking forward to watching them with him when he gets back.

Another show we used to love to watch together was Medium. It’s long cancelled, but if you can get some reruns, I highly recommend it.

I love Dance Moms and Dance Moms Miami, and there are often mini marathons of those when new episodes are airing.

As for Big Bang, I’ve caught some of them, and really enjoy them. Son gets aggravated with me as I have already named the characters some of his best friends. It gets the geek boys SOOO right. Especially the obliviousness to the beautiful girl next door.

A show my son is surprisingly hooked on, though, is How I Met Your Mother. Although I hope he’s not using Uncle Barney as a role model, I think he likes the idea that it’s about a father telling his children about his youth. I’m glad I gave the show a chance, because I"m really enjoying it as well.

It sounds like you’re more into comedies but if you feel like dabbling in dramedies, Bones is fantastic. My sister and I watch every episode together. It’s a nice mix of comedy, mystery, and drama and the science is pretty accurate (in comparison to similar shows) as a real anthropologist plays a large role in the production of the show.

We have DirecTV, so I’m not sure what channels Comcast offers but, if you get FX, I can’t recommend Justified highly enough.

DH and I also like Homeland, Falling Skies, True Blood and The Mentalist. I enjoy Revenge and The Firm, too, but DH doesn’t like them so much. Admittedly, we watch a lot of TV, but it works for us and we like it.

We all really like How I Met Your Mother as well, though I do feel this past season and a half is not really as well written as some of the earlier stuff.

I also liked New Girl - with Zooey Deschanel - it took a few episodes for the characters to gel. And I must be the dumbest person around, but i did get a kick out of Raising Hope if only because I think that baby is the cutest thing (and I’m not even one of those baby people)

We recently latched on to the new “Revolution” series. We really like it. It’s the one about life 15 years after a total world electricity blackout.

Sorry to hear that Animal Practice is already slated to be cancelled. I thought the show was hilarious, but I must be the only person in America who watched it every week. :(

We opted not to try New Girl because we would have needed to start in the midst of Season 2.

We tried The Mentalist instead, hoping it would be easier to follow. We did like it. There is obvious some past plot that we don’t understand, but each show seems to have an independent mystery too.
