They are experienced ppl . Some ppl decline early… . Suppose 3 bioengg ppl declined so they ll call 1 from WL early … they hav some calculation of yield which they are experienced for so many yrs…

Yield is the amount of ppl accepting the offer . Suppose 6000 ppl were admitted. 3000 acccepted the offer and SIR. Then yield is 50 percent. But if their class size is 3500 then they will take 500 from WL.
I guess EECS yield rate should be very high. Not holding any hopes :(. plus i am OOS. I accepted UT austin Turing Scholar today.

only accepted by UCLA CS, UT Austin CS honor+Business honor programs, Waitinglisted: Cornell CS, UC berkeley EECS, Uchicago Economics, rejected by Stanford CS, MIT CS, and Princeton CS.

@huerbao its your year…when we apply to schools its only prestige that we see. In long run prestige of a school, rank of a school does not matter. It matters as long as you are in your high school group when being on the top you feel you should go to the most prestigious school rt… but destiny does not work like that. 1st rank sd go to harvard 2nd rank to go to stanford… destiny is not a computer programne… that it will choose like this.
Austin turing is best among all CS programme … highly prestigious… look at the course look at the prestige turing scolar cs of austin is associated with… u r blessed to hv so much excellent admits… forget wht other frnds of ur class have got… move ahead and do the very best wherever u go… all the luck to u bro

@USUG21, that is so sweet of you saying that. yes, i did submit opt-in. But not holding any hopes because it is EECS :). i am a Texan, and i should be happy to attend UT and make best use of the double honor programs. I will save the money for future, maybe graduate school.
