I dont think it will. It’s just one point difference…
@AlbionH The FPF office should be able to check and verify your name on their list. Here is the link to their website: https://fpf.berkeley.edu/. From all the discussions on this forum, it sounds like the Cal website has not been very clear in explaining next steps after accepting a spot (coming off the waitlist). I would call them. They can give you specific dates and information about this year’s orientation dates, application for housing procedures, and everything about the program.
For those of you with questions regarding housing, the website (portal.berkeley.housing.edu) states
“Newly Admitted Fall Program for Freshmen (FPF) will be able to apply after making the online payment for your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) and activating your CalNet ID (don’t be alarmed if you can’t log in immediately). This does not hurt your chances of getting an assignment, since all new first-year undergraduate students (including FPF) who apply by the deadline have priority for housing! For a tutorial on how to apply, follow this link: Application Tutorial.”
Keep in mind housing is never guaranteed for any student at Cal(FPF or not). Chances are very good for freshmen, but only if you specify “Any Room, Any Dorm” as one of the options. My son (FPF 2016) got his first choice. Also just FYI, the FPF building and classes are located 2 short blocks south of campus, so you might want to keep that in mind when putting down a preference for dorms. (Dorms are south and north of campus.)
Where can we create our CalNet IDs? Im trying to create mine so I can set up the bConnected account and apply for housing but I cant find where we can create the Calnet ID

@akizaka46 whr r u gng this fall
I am trying to choose the FPF at Berkeley pathway, but when I click submit it provides this message:
You are unable to submit this form for one of the following reasons:
*You must complete the Statement of Intent to Register process prior to submitting this form. Allow at least 30 minutes for your SIR to process before coming back to submit.
*You have signed up for a Summer program, which overlaps with the summer component of Global Edge.
I submitted the SIR yesterday, but it still wont let me choose the pathway, but i havent paid the deposit yet. Any ideas why I cant submit the pathway?
@cba99 is it because you still havent paid the deposit yet, so you still have not officially submitted your SIR?
For those of you who have already been confirmed via email that you have been accepted into FPF Berkeley, does it still show that you are Spring Admit on CalCentral? Any idea when it will update on CalCentral?
I feel like I’m being so paranoid because I have already received confirmation from FPF via e-mail that I have been accepted; however bc my CalCentral Portal still shows me as a Spring 2018 admit, I am worried that it is not official yet. Just scared because my parents will only let me attend Cal if I can go starting Fall 2017…
Same thing for me. I’m assuming because the email was an automated thing so maybe tomorrow when they’re actually in office working it’ll update?
Do you pay the deposit before picking a first year pathway?
Hi guys, I’m probably going to be declining my offer on the waitlist as I was selected for January admission, and that doesn’t really work for me. Does anyone know how to decline the offer? There seems to just be a checkbox for “yes, I am accepting the offer of admission,” although it says to let the school know of my decision by May 11th. What do I do? If you get off a waitlist, you don’t have to enroll, right?
@Polyglotte Yes, you can choose not to enroll. Just don’t accept the offer! As the deadline passes Berkeley will automatically know that you don’t wanna enroll. BTW, what is the major you applied for?
@polyglotte thank you for being considerate of other people not offered admission last Friday. If you really want Berkeley to know you do not plan to enroll, send an email to admissions@berkeley.edu with your full name.
Has anyone called admissions to ask about L&S CS applicants? I still haven’t seen anyone that got off of the waitlist for it
Someone on this thread said that his or her friend got in as L&S CS applicant. I honestly don’t think we have high chance now since ucb admissions tweeted that next wave will depend on how many SIR from first wave n it seems like only few l&s CS applicant got in on the first wave.
I’m doing FPF Berkeley but the golden bear orientation still says January, does that mean we don’t get to go through the orientation with all the other fall admits even though I’m going to be there starting fall?
@USUG21 I’ll be attending Cal
