I am new to this site, waitlisted L&S CS at UCB as well. In combing through this thread it seems like the following are in the same boat as well @johnlimster, @cheesecakke , @jahvascript, @alesie1260, @Arabergro. After conducting a thorough online search and speaking with several waitlisted L&S CS-UCB students in the Bay Area, I am yet to come across any real confirmation of a student getting off the UCB L&S CS waitlist. The only reference we have are two postings by @cheesecakke (see below) and the link provided does not work.

@johnlimster a friend of mine got in for L&S and he was intended for CS. Saw on reddit that someone got in for CS as well.

Does anyone in the same boat have any thoughts on this? Considering, the high rating of the CS program at UCB, I am wondering if they have any open spots in the first place and/or even started to look at the L&S CS intended major waitlist?

I find it very weird, hopefully the major is not overenrolled. Are there any other majors that havent been announced yet? Maybe they are waiting for the second wave. Still keeping those hopes up! :slight_smile:

Do people admitted off the waitlist have the same housing priority as people admitted back in March, as it says the deadline to submit the housing app for the students admitted in March was May 2.

@CS2021 I just got off the phone with admissions and the admissions officer confirmed that all L&S applicants are considered in the same pool. I am still skeptical, however, because there are so many of us and none of us got in. Somebody else should call before they close in 30 min to double check

@CS2021 She did not know how many CS applicants (if any) were accepted after the first wave so hopefully somebody calls and gets a different officer

My daughter got off waitlist last Friday-in state, CNR, traditional pathway starting in Fall.

Thanks for checking. In class now so can’t call the admissions office. In looking at their morning tweet (copied below), it appears that waitlisted decisions could potentially drag until early June.

@johnlimster it was a reply to an applicant asking when the next wave would be.

They said “Hi! If you’re referring to our next wave of wait list offers, we can’t say as it depends how many SIR in 1st round.”

On this thread alone, i think there are at least seven of us (including me) @johnlimster, @cheesecakke , @jahvascript, @alesie1260, @Arabergro, @katiemiller and NONE of us have heard back!! - Any other L&S intended CS majors out there?

I’m an intended CS major as well and I haven’t heard back either
