@iwillyou go to your notification where it says “dear blah blah,” and the waitlist FAQ was on there. It didn’t change until the day of though just a few hours before. More decisions will probably be out tomorrow or next week!
how long does it take to get your CalNET ID after you submit your SIR for wait list students? How do I access my housing application???
@love-vball123 You don’t get your cal net id just by submitting your SIR. You have to make a berkeley email and a cal net id on your own. Check your to-do list (takes at most a day to get it activated)

Q: How to get your berkeley email and Cal Net Id?
A: Go to your cal central and check your to-do list. Make both. ( I believe you need to do one first before the other, sorry i don’t remember the order–but you can figure it out). **Be sure to check your cal central profile and see that your berkeley email is on the notification center.
Q: How do I apply for housing as FPF?
A: Choose fall. Go to https://portal.housing.berkeley.edu/ ( You can only complete up to housing phase 1)** You will pay about $25.00 (At least that’s what I paid). And you will get a confirmation email that you applied for housing. You will not know if you got the dorm of your choosing until Early June. You need your cal net ID before applying. Something to keep in mind: Check the prices of dorms before you choose. You also want variety in preferences. Your last option has to be: "Any room, Any building " Or else you are not in the priority selection.
Q: What else should I do?
A: There are other things on your to-do list that are easy to complete on your own->

Cal net id photo submit ( This is where you are asked to submit a photo for your cal net id card that you will end up using for cal net debit card or meal plan card, etc Guidelines for photos will be provided, ( basically the same ones asked from ACT/SAT). You will be given notification through email if the photo was not approved. If it was, the taks will be considered complete in 2-3days, and your cal net will have that as your profile picture.

TB Questionnaire. ( YOU NEED A CAL NET ID TO DO THIS) Click this task and head to etang login. You can go to that site by clicking the task, then clicking immunizations, scroll down to the blue link where it says: “Ready to begin? Go to etang>>” Go to forms tab. Complete all the required forms. They need to know your health history and personal information about you, and have permission to care over you through their insurance etc, etc. IF you do not see the TB questionnaire form in all the forms you have required go to: https://uhs.berkeley.edu/faqs-immunizations-requirements

Submit Immunizations.Click the task immunizations, click immunizations box, scroll down to the blue link where it says: " Ready to begin? Go to etang>>" Go to the Immunization/TB upload tab. This is where you would send photos of your immunizations record and document of you being tested for TB. If you have TB the form should say you got a vaccination to ensure you’re not infectious. If you don’t have TB the document should say you have been tested negative for TB. You should scan your immunizations and TB document and upload it that way. This takes 2-3days. So be patient and check through your immunization record tab or cal central to-do list to ensure they got it.

AC Transit. You just approve the document. It’s free transportation
(Bus). This task is shown on cal central to-do list. Easy to do.
- TIV Release. Check your cal central and go to your "My finances" tab, if you need to fill this out, you will see it somewhere in your finances tab. It's to authorize them to give you the financial aid on the given term.
- Parent information form. This ask very basic information about your parents. Easy to do. This task is shown on cal central to-do list.
- ( ONLY APPLIES IF YOU DON'T WANT BERKELEY INSURANCE PLAN, AND YOU HAVE YOUR OWN MAJOR INSURANCE PLAN) On your cal central portal (Next to your to-do list)-> where your notifications are. you will soon see Student Health Insurance Plan. If you plan to have a major insurance plan instead of berkeley insurance plan, click that so you can send Berkeley SHIP.
- New orientation date for FPF students: soon you will see a notification on your cal central. The new orientation date for us golden bears: August 15th-22nd .

Quick answers:
You need a cal net id to do almost everything including the housing application.

Create your cal net ID and pass phrase. You can find this task through your cal central to-do list. It takes at most a day to have this activated and you can use it and be able to do other task. So please do this ASAP if you haven’t.

Create a berkeley email adress, then check your profile and see if your berkeley email is set as default notification.

Apply for Housing. (You will only be able to complete housing phase 1. You will not be able to do phase 2 until early June. At the end of the housing application Phase 1 you should pay $25.00 At least that’s what I paid, and submit. You should receive a confirmation email after submission. If you are an accepted FPF student, choose Fall academic year. When choosing your preferences be sure to have variety, and your last option must be “Any room, any building”. If you don’t place that as your last option, you receive lower housing priority. This task may take up to 1-3days to remove from your to-do list.
Easy task you need to complete:

Statement of Legal Residence. This is just required evidence to see if you are out-of-state or California resident. This is needed ASAP for housing application. This can be found in your cal central to-do list.

Parent information form. This is fast to complete. You need to fill this out, and it’s best to get it out of the way now:) This can be found through cal central to-do list.

Cal 1 Card Photo ID Card. Click this task from your cal central to-do list then submit a photo following the guidelines. This photo will be used for meal plans, cal debit, and etc. The guidelines are similar to the ACT/SAT photo submission. If your photo does not follow the guidelines, you will receive an email to try again.

AC Transit Clipper Card. This is a card for transportation. You just need to agree to the terms. This task can be found through your cal central to-do list.

TIV Release. Go to you cal central login, then click the “My Finances” Tab. You will see: “TIV Release” , if you are required to authorize the right for them to give you the financial aid. It’s quick and easy.

The TB document should show that you are negative tested for TB. If you are positive, it should show that you were given treatment to ensure you are not infectious. This takes up to 2-3 days for them to confirm this information. Keep checking your cal central to-do list and immunization record tab through etang to check if everything was accepted and received.

I just found my waitlist essay is condensed to one paragraph. Does it happen to anyone?
I’m also an intended L&S CS major who hasn’t heard back from waitlist yet. Has anyone checked last year’s thread to see if this happened last year as well? Just curious.
@l432480 last year many people got off for L&S CS on the first wave. I don’t know why it’s different for this year.

@Nessa221 When I try to creat my CalNET ID from my to do task, it says it’s forbidden. ?? What should I do? My SIR deadline is tonight at midnight? Can I get an extension?
I would guess more offers will go out tomorrow (Fri) because the SIR deadline for the first wave is 11:59pm tonight (Thurs). I already declined and I know others have too. Spots will be opening. Good luck guys!
