@SpicyRamen r u international
@USUG21 yeah, not CS though if you were wondering, and I got in in the first wave of waitlisted applicants
@SpicyRamen and did u apply for engg
I have contacted the undergraduate office. Unfortunately, all waitlist offers were already made.
Did they confirm that no more offers will be made? Because students were admitted yesterday and some of them may choose not to accept? Also did you ask about a particular major/ department or in general?
Sorry for so many questions, I’m just so nervous @layanstar1
Yeah… that person has ONE post and joined less than an hour ago. I doubt they just flat out said they were done admitting. Let’s not assume and just think positively.
Is admission office even open yet??
That’s what they said when I emailed them. But maybe some people decline the offer?
I asked generally, not specifying any department.
I hope their wrong! @calhopeful2021
Are you positive that admissions flat out said there won’t be any more offers? What about people who reject waitlist offers? Other people get those spots I thought
I am just wondering whether there will be any more waves to look out for or just a few sporadic acceptances. Does anyone know?
Do you guys think they will have an OOS wave (just like they had an in state wave) as large as yesterday’s, or much smaller, or no more OOS waves, or no waves at all?
I know it’s speculative but still
Also, Did anybody read last years berkeley waitlist thread and gain any relevant insight?
Last yrs thread @katiemiller
@johnlimster same exact situation as you man, I want to go but I don’t want to be set behind all the other CS majors. Would rather just go to CAl Poly CS than being behind, but I’ve heard you can take a CS class over summer that can transfer? I’m not sure please let me know what they say when you call.
@calhop this is what they said in the email exactly: Thank you so much for letting us know of your interest. Unfortunately, we have already sent out offers to students on the waitlist.
@johnlimster - Please let us know what you find out about CS61A/61B/70. BTW your post #1530 and #1591 seem conflicting (both are copied below). You stated in post #1530 that you had the option of the traditional pathway. So why are you not going with the traditional fall pathway? Why would you want to pursue FPF and risk of being a semester behind as stated in post#1591? Please clarify. Thanks.
1591 johnlimster Yesterday at 8:59 pm - most other fall admits will be taking CS61A in the fall, but those who are in FPF will have to start taking CS61A in the spring. Therefore, we are 1 semester behind all the other intended CS majors. The fall admits will have completed CS70 by the end of the 1st semester in sophomore year, while we will have completed CS70 by the end of our 2nd semester in sophomore year.I'm not sure exactly if we will still be able to declare even with a 3.3 GPA. I'm going to ask them.
1530 johnlimster Yesterday at 4:03 pm - In state intended CS!!!! Excuse me for talking **** earlier!!!!! I have the option of the traditional fall Pathway!!! I'm beyond shook!!!!
@CS2021 @johnlimster I just talked to my friend in berkeley CS and he said that you could take a class over summer in between your freshman and sophomore year if you wanted to be on track with the rest of them. I’ll need to confirm it with others tho
Probably insignificant–but they updated the portal. The front page has a column that reads Application Decisions and Important Updates(I think it was different?) and I am now able to Download PDFs of my waitlisted notification and waitlist FAQ.
@Aovnick this might be some indication for u becse my portal is just the same and i know i dont hav a chance being int engg… so stay strong…
