UC Berkeley 2026 Portal Astrology Discussion

nope

Yes I am able to see the unable to load page and it appears for a bit then becomes blank and keeps loading like a white blank

I don’t see Account not created. Do you guys think early decisions for sure will come out this Friday?

Very likely. No one can be 100% sure as ucb doesn’t announce.

I was very active on the portal astrology thread last year. The ID you receive is actually your student ID, so I wouldn’t share it with anyone. If you have an ID, it definitely means something since you use that id for practically everything here; it’s not just some random numbers.

Y’all I am able to see this!!! Did I get in ???

it shows class search terms

What link you followed?

can you see your met video in your portal?

Yeah I can

It was the link from Reddit. Someone posted it there

what are ur stats

1: People are seeing different login results before decisions: email shown, 10 digit ID shown (often starting with 30), or a campus page that shows name and ID.

2: The simplest explanation is that these results line up with different steps in how Berkeley creates and turns on identity records across multiple systems, and those steps do not happen at the same time for everyone.

3: The flow described in the docs is multi step: application platform used by Berkeley, then the student system (PeopleSoft Campus Solutions), then CalNet identity systems that feed directory and login services.

4: Berkeley SIS docs describe a staging process where application data is loaded, checked, and run through search and match, then posted into the main records.

5: If search and match does not find an existing person record, the system creates a new person record and creates a Student ID (EMPLID or SID).

6: Berkeley job aids describe new student IDs as 10 digits, and in at least one documented workflow they start with 30.

7: Email shown after login can happen when you can log in with application credentials but the Student ID is not yet being shown by the login page.

8: A 10 digit ID shown after login suggests the Student ID exists and is connected to your record strongly enough to be displayed by the login layer, and the 30xxxxxxxx pattern matches Berkeley’s documented new ID format.

9: The “name and ID header” campus page result suggests more than identity existing. It suggests access is turned on for self service pages, which in PeopleSoft depends on user profiles and roles.

10: CalNet docs describe a PreSIR directory area for admitted students before they submit intent to register, and also describe that some directory lookups can only see the main People area unless the service has privileged access.

11: Because different services can query the directory differently, one app can “see” a person earlier than another, which can create inconsistent results across pages.

12: The survey gradient people observed (email group lower, ID group higher, new page group highest) can happen from timing alone if higher priority groups are processed earlier and the systems run in batches.

13: Berkeley docs describe batch style schedules like search match post running at least daily and more often in peak times, and CalNet pulls that can be daily and hourly during spring admittance.

14: False positives are possible because some applicants may already have an ID from prior affiliation, and the system can match them to an existing record.

15: False negatives are possible because staging can hit suspended or error conditions that require manual resolution, which can delay ID creation or display.

16: High confidence points from docs: the 10 digit 30xxxxxxxx format matches documented new student ID format in specific workflows, the staged process can create IDs, PreSIR exists for admitted students, updates happen on schedules, and PeopleSoft page access depends on roles not just logging in.

17: Not supported by docs alone: claims that ID means admitted or email means rejected. That requires outcome tracking after decisions and measuring admit rates by pre decision state.

FAQ:

Why do all transfer have ID:

(1) Transfers and Intls are possibly a different process for being pushed to SIS from slate.

(2) Transfers have significantly less applicants hence they are less serious in their role screenings (no priority queue) (Our best guess)

(3) Rejected applicants from last year have an ID, and their application has been attached to that. (Fact)

(4) We have never seen a transfer with email (Fact)

(5) Transfer applicants have on average higher stats (selection bias)

Does ID basically mean nothing then, does it not mean you are a good applicant?

We presume most early IDs (current IDs) are accepted though, because of this ratio for realism albeit somewhat skewed. We have 24 early admits in here, of the 1200 (confirmed by berkeley). Hence we have 2% of early admits. It would not be insane, for us to have 2% of all admits as per the same ratio. We calculate to be around 390 for this year (assuming 19.5K admits total). We do not have that many IDs, so it is possible and perhaps even likely for most current IDs (the distinction is important because more people will get IDs) to get into UC Berkeley in RD. We only have ~140 IDs (including new page who are admit) currently.

(24/100) = 0.02
0.02 * 19,500 = 390

Up to 390 Plausible Admits, only 140 ids.

can someone pls catch me up on astrology I have no clue what I’m supposed to be seeing

I don’t have an acct ?

Thanks for the thorough analysis. I am a bit confused by the logic of this part… It indeed would not be insane to have 24 early admits here out of the 1200, but no one has reported that they possess neither the ID nor email? Out of curiosity, what makes you take such an optimistic presumption?

Also, I assume you mean 24/1200 (which, indeed, is 0.02) rather than 24/100?

I go to an Indian graded system school in Singapore. So I took the IGCSE board exams and got a 98% in 11th grade and 97% in 10th grade. Predicted IB I think 44/45

ngl almost everyone is getting some sort of account not created stuff with this exact same link that you used. given the really small amount of regents admits and the image you shared I wouldn’t be surprised if you get good news tmr!!

There’s a discord server regarding Berkeley Portal Astrology called Berkeley Observatory–we got those statistics from people within there who have reported their designations. And yes, 24/1200, it was a mistake
